Title: Stupid newbie "haywire" question (sorry)
Post by: rboarderd on May 17, 2009, 02:07:50 AM
Apologies for such a ridiculous question;

Which version of "haywire"  do the symbols on the reels light/flash etc ? I always wanted one, and thought I would keep my eye out for one but don't know what to look for.

Thanks for your help!

Hiya...First of all...I've never heard a "stupid" question here...as far as we're concerned...there are none!
Haywires that use the backlighted reels can only be found on IGT machines called "Double Diamond Haywire".

I'd be careful though...they are so much fun to play that you'll want more machines too...lol

Not too too expensive...check out some of our vendors on the top of the home page...
you'll find what you're looking for and they usually have their phone number and emails listed to contact them.
If you explain that you're an new NLG member,
I'm sure they'll give you a little price break because they'll only want ya coming back for more! :97- :97- :97-

I wanted to add that if you fill out your profile better, they may be a member nearby ya that'll be glad to help you out!

Be advised this post is in the S+ forum, and the machines with the backlit reels are S2000.

Make sure you get an S2000, or "no flashing reels for you, 1 year!"  :72- :72- :72- :72-

Allow me to consolidate all the above answers;

1. You need a machine that supports backlit reels. The S2000 for IGT.
2. You need the backlit reels. Not all S2000's have the backlit reel assembly. (It was optional)
3. You need software for a game that supports backlighting. Like Double Diamond Haywire and several others.
4. You need reel strips that are made for backlighting. (see pic)

Easiest thing to do is to buy an S2000 with a complete backlit game kit.

Backlit reel strips have the background area grayed (or blacked) out so the light only shines through the symbols. On the back of a normal reel strip it will be all white, for backlighting you will see the background areas grayed out.

uniman,

Very good info. So what other S2000 games support back lit reels besides double diamond haywire?

There are many S2000 games that support backlit reels. I have never seen a complete list.  :103-
Best thing to do is list several games your interested in and let the IGT experts here answer.  :89-
I am the "Uniman" and never have owned an IGT, I have only Universal's. But with all the great info on this site you can learn all about machines before you own one!
Someday I may pickup an S2000, IGT-Barcrest or S2000 vision machine. :71-
