Title: Interest in affordable Authentic Sandisk Compact Flash
Post by: Hokiehog on May 18, 2009, 10:16:08 PM
All,

With a soon to be expanding NXT/NXT2 market as machines become more readily available, there is going to be a pretty high demand for Sandisk Compact Flash devices, as the Williams machines will only run with the real thing.  Sandisk does not do direct manufacturing of these cards to the public any longer.

I am looking to gauge interest in 64MB and 128MB cards (Most of the OS's run on these two sizes) as I have found a very reliable source.  I am looking to price them around $9 for the 64MB and $14 for the 128MB.  $3 to ship <6 cards.  $5 to ship >5 and <10 and $8 to ship >10.  I probably cant sell many huge orders so I would just price shipping accordingly.

I can guarantee these cards will work with an NXT/NXT2.  No one else will (trust me, I have found many counterfeit devices). They dont come with a plastic case, but thye work.  STRESS FREE CF purchases...

Thoughts?

Do you know what the difference is between the standard cf and the williams cf?

There is a certain size needed when doing an available space check on the compact flash. Maybe someone else can post the size required per card, 64mb, 128mb, etc. The sandisk versions in standard or industrial with the grey starburst pattern or the white label with large red card size designation are supposed to be reliable.

Tacman is exactly correct.

64MB = 62,720 kb
128MB = 125,440 kb
256MB = 250,880 kb

I have found that the sandisk Ultra's also work reliably.  You can also go by their manufacture date:

128MB after 2003
256MB after 2004

To the best of my knowledge all 512MB Sandisk branded cards work.

The older 128 and 256 MB are a speed dependent issue.  The older CF's used really slow Flash nands, and time out during game loads, they pass verification, but time out during game load.

I should also make a correction on the CF size for 128MB it should be 125,440.  In fact all CF cards are exactly twice as large as the previous card generation except for the 512MB Card which needs to be 500,472KB

62,720 (x 2) 125,440 (x 2) 250,880

I now have a generous supply of 64MB and 128MB Sandisk CF's that are guaranteed to work with NXT boards.

$7 a piece for the 64MB and $14 for the 128MB.  I take Paypal so please contact me directly for these.  They are hard to find (that aren't counterfeit) and I will assure these will work with your NXT boards.

Contact thru e-mail on here

Thanks,

HH
