Title: What tokens (if any) do you use on your games?
Post by: MrBellMan on May 20, 2009, 12:59:06 AM
I was fortunate enough to run across these token on Ebay. They are Beliagio tokens from over seas. I'm not positive what metal they have, so I will just say say copper and silver. They are just about the same weight as a quarter and they are nice and solid! They actually sound like real quarters when you drop them on a table or when a game spits them out into the metal tray. No "tinny" sounds. They were not the cheapest, but the best I have seen so far. I have them in all my games and love them!

Anyone else have a token they like to use?

Rob

Looks like a Canadian Toonie......

I use Pachislo tokens, however I have one series that just falls through the comparitor and no amount of adjustment makes any difference. I have about 1000 of these intermixed with about 15000 others. So if you are purchasing cheap tokens make sure you buy in quantity as the metal content will vary. I can make these work but then the others fall through. I am slowly picking them out.

C'mon Jay, just put all those same tokens in only 1 machine and threaten death or great bodily harm to anyone that puts them in one of the other machines!  :5- Or is it that you don't want to really go through all those other tokens to find them? :96-

Have you tried using an x-10?  it can be programmed for different tokens.  I use Canadian Quarters as tokens in mine, and since the metal varied over the years, I use an x-10 and program it with about 30 quarters (6 in each of 5 positions), leaving one position unused.  The only trouble with using real money is if anyone in the house needs change for the ice cream truck or whatever...

thanks,
Wayne

I use tokens for my Dollar denominated slot as it got too expensive to find enough Ike dollars to fill a hopper.  I use quarters for the quarter slots, and nickels for the nickel slot.  I don't have ice cream truck issues as my 7 year old knows those quarters are out of limits.

I use Loonies (Canadian dollar coins) for dollar machines.  It was my mother in law who actually took some last time to play cards with her friends, and I had a party once, a couple days later one of my friends told me that another friends son filled his pockets, this was too late for me to do anything so I chalked it up as an educational cost.  My mother in law did tell me and would have paid me back but It didn't bother me.  I do like Ice Cream though!
I am going to make a Nickel machine today that will use Canadian nickels as tokens.  :96-

Thanks,
Wayne

Those loonies are the same diameter as the newer golden dollar coins. I suppose I could also use Presidential dollar coins as well.  What size coin head do you need for the loonies?

I use the dollar coin heads that come in some machines, but I think they will fit through a quarter coin head also, since I'm pretty sure I used those in the past.

Well, I had two Pachis that I used them in and kept the coinage away from the rest of the machines. I gave the Pachis away with the tokens. Except there were two coin cups that got dumped into the change rolling machine and have been distributed between about 200 rolls of coins and are in the belly of some of my machines. So as the machines are played any coins that drop through go into a coin bucket behind the bar. I will send them to my friends with the Pachis.....

I use good ole american quarters in mine :96- The temptation is great however when I need to take the truck to the carwash :81-
I have considered swithching to tokens, but dont the brass ones get quite dirty quickly?
Who makes or carries the silver(nickel metal?) tokens at a really good price?  I would need a couple of thousand I guess :47-
