Title: Noob has stupid question (flame suit on) Post by: rich_r31 on May 20, 2009, 11:50:57 AM Hi all! Just picked up a slot about a month ago and had to changed the battery. Needless to say, it took some time to figure out what the heck I was doing. Anywho, life is good and it is reset and the Dollar bill acceptor is now working with the help of some smart people from here.
I am trying to find what all these codes mean to help setup the machine. It's an IGT Double Wild Cherry. The codes in question are: 2 (sounds - figured this one out) 5 (credits or coins - figured this one out too) 6 7 8 9 13 16 30 31 34 35 39 43 60 78 If someone can help, that would be great. I am a pinball guy with zero experience with Slots. thanks! Rich Title: Re: Noob has stupid question (flame suit on) Post by: stayouttadabunker on May 20, 2009, 12:22:19 PM Hey! Welcome to NewLifeGames Rich! :wa :136-
There's no stupid questions here... take a look at this stuff and feel free to browse around! There's TONS of info on your machine.... I pasted a link for you from the home page that'll help you a lot! http://www.newlifegames.net/faq1/ (http://www.newlifegames.net/faq1/) Hit the little white test button until you see a "4" in the coins played display and tell us those numbers.... those are your reel and game chips and we can help you more! Title: Re: Noob has stupid question (flame suit on) Post by: rich_r31 on May 20, 2009, 12:39:46 PM Thanks for the warm welcome! Those numbers would be 1227 and 4326

I thought that option 2 -> 0 is supposed to give me both reel spin tones and reel stop sounds... Any ideas? I want both reel spin tones and reel stop sounds if possible. (it appears that DIP switch 3 has no effect on this SP) thanks, - Rich Title: Re: Noob has stupid question (flame suit on) Post by: Slotmaster on May 20, 2009, 01:44:49 PM Rich,
I sent you what you need for 1227 welcome and enjoy I am not sure on the reel sounds so one of the expert S+ folks will answer you. Title: Re: Noob has stupid question (flame suit on) Post by: a69mopar on May 20, 2009, 02:41:13 PM Different game chips(sp1227) react differently to that option, I like the reel spin tone so I set that.

It's the handle solenoid that makes the noise. When you set it to the other option, the only noise you hear is an electronically generated stop noise, it disables both the spinning reel jingle and the solenoid.
So of you are getting a situation where you hear the spinning reel jingle, but the solenoid is not "thumping" during each reel stop, then there's something wrong with your handle solenoid. I have never tried SP1227, but all the SP chips I use behave as described above. maybe you have a chip that doesn't even use the solenoid? Does your slot handle work correctly? (i.e. locks when there are no bets in place and unlocks with the 1st coin bet?) Title: Re: Noob has stupid question (flame suit on) Post by: a69mopar on May 20, 2009, 02:45:05 PM does your handle lock when no coins are in and release when coins are played?

This hobby has hardly any source of information available to home users, so in essence, there's no such thing as a "stupid" question.
