Title: DBV-200 Version Question
Post by: enforcer on May 22, 2009, 02:37:49 PM
I am considering an upgrade of my DBV-145 to a DBV-200 for my IGT Slot.  A seller I found has the DBV unit with the power supply:

DBV-200-B023
ID - 022/023
Version 2.51-04-03

I know there was a version 2.40 that accepted colored $20's and $50's, but not the gold $10 or purple $5's.  Then there was a version 2.60 which supposedly accepted the gold $10's as well, but still not the purple $5's, which supposedly JCM doesn't have an upgrade for?

Does anyone know if version 2.51 accepts the gold $10's ?

The version 2.60 will take the new 10. The version for the new 5 has not been released. Ben

Yeah...the casinos don't want your $5 dollar bills, only the bigger ones... :72-

I have some DBV-200 heads with the eprom chips. The newest version that I have is 2.40.05
These are SH heads with the ID 044 P / 045 P for the WMS and Bally machines.

How new is the Version 2.40? and what is the version for the new color $5.00?

Bally and Williams share the the same ID 044/045 for the SH heads. There is an upgrade version 2.75  for the new $5. Ben

What type of bills does the 2.12-04-02 (5A53) version take? The reason I ask is that I installed it in a customers S+ slant top and it still doesn't take the 20's (new or old) the machine will take 1,5,10 (old) with no problems.

It should take the old "small head" $20's.  Check dip switch #4 on the bottom of the validator head.  It should be off, if on it will reject $20's.

switch is off..I'm going to try and run it in test mode to see what comes up. I just got this from World Wide Gaming, so it should be taking 20's.

2.60 is the most current for S+, hard to find the old bills that the 2.12 would work with, why even use a 200 head with that software?

Well, that's what the sticker says on the chip, but it might have a new version flashed on it...is there any way to tell what version you have on the chip (other then looking at the chip)?
