Title: Bally 5500 Buttons Post by: jdkmunch on May 22, 2009, 10:16:47 PM How do you get the small buttons out of a 5500? I was able to remove the larger buttons by unscrewing the plastic nut but I can't seem to figure out how to remove the small guys. :103-

W Title: Re: Bally 5500 Buttons Post by: jdkmunch on May 22, 2009, 11:40:08 PM I don't think so. It appears to be a square plastic molded piece on the backside of the switch. The larger buttons had a regular plastic nut on it.
I may be wrong if that square piece is a nut. I tried to loosen but didn't want to force anything. Title: Re: Bally 5500 Buttons Post by: a69mopar on May 22, 2009, 11:41:39 PM there isn't any nut under the square spacer??

Title: Re: Bally 5500 Buttons Post by: jdkmunch on May 23, 2009, 12:07:02 AM I found the nut! I didn't notice it because the nut comes flush with the bottom of the switch. I was able to remove them without even using a tool.
thanks Now to find out how to remove the BV and cash can. Title: Re: Bally 5500 Buttons Post by: a69mopar on May 23, 2009, 01:53:33 AM I knew you would figure it out if I prodded you a little. I got the ebay item today also, thanks, I'll leave positive feedback now.

Title: Re: Bally 5500 Buttons Post by: a69mopar on May 23, 2009, 12:21:52 PM no, I won't paint it, I will have it rechromed. I left feedback.
Thanks, Wayne Title: Re: Bally 5500 Buttons Post by: jdkmunch on May 23, 2009, 08:42:39 PM Thanks!
How do you rechrome something? Sounds great. :3- Title: Re: Bally 5500 Buttons Post by: tacman on May 23, 2009, 09:01:26 PM It's plating, what do you think? There are companiies that will do everthing from car bumpers down to small gun parts. Here is a link to a thread on the discussion and a link to a home electroplating kit, but commercial dip plating is much more durable for like a slot door.
