We visited the Red Hawk Casino (10 min past Folsom, CA) on Friday night and I wanted to share a few details of the visit.

First, the casino is very nice overall. There are two levels. The lower has some restaurants and has the non-smoking section for the casino. We went on "seafood night" for the buffet and ate dungeness crab that was to die for!  :89- :89- :89-

The casino was full of the newer games from Bally, Williams, IGT, etc... I did not see one S+ or S2000 game. I did see a one or two somewhat older Barcrest games, but that was about it for "classic" games. I'm not sure if all the games were SB, but I would assume so. The other thing I noticed was the missing neon lights. Not one to be found, but there were tons of LED signs everywhere. Sign of the times?  :103-

We had a great time. I hit a $200 jackpot on my first $20 and was able to play with that all night long. So, the trip cost $50 for dinner, $20 gambling and $25 in gas!  :37- :37- :37-

I was just at the Sands casino in Bethlehem PA.   -  Very similar to Mt. Airy Lodge - I liked it very much however they need to get their act together regarding parking.  Took over 1 hour to leave due to traffic jams!!!  :81-

On Boulder Hwy in Henderson I recently visited The Jokers Wild. Nice small local casino. I played a bank of progressive nickle S2000's with older games like Blackjack (not Double Blackjack), Bow Tie, etc. And they were backlit!! Very nice. Nice little casino.

Just down the road was The Skyline. This place is almost all video poker. Very, very little slots.

If you want to see all new slots then the Eastside Cannery is the place. Next time I go there I'll take a bunch of pic's.

OK..this is really a Great idea for a thread...

   My review will consist of the recently opened brand new "Q" (Quechan Indian) casino that I have attended 3 times in the last 3 months...

They are located in Winterhaven, CA which is 1 exit and 15 minutes from my place in Yuma, AZ.

   OK, Well the Casino is indeed very impressive and has a few good bars and restaurants with good food.  :3-  The Casino floor itself is highly open air atmosphere and most machines are placed in groups with NO CROWDING between isles at all...    :3- You can have people standing behind you and across you and plenty of room to walk through after having a few. (no free drinks here).

   EVERY single machine is the very latest technology with plenty of lights and sensory overload   :5- ( NO CLASSIC SLOTS HERE)  :60-  :8- BUT I have lost around $200 in each of my three visits in no time with my biggest hit being for around $30.00.  :37-

   As long as I keep getting free coupons for free slot play and free meals I will keep checking it out but I would rather make the trip to Laugh in or Vegas to spend any real money.. as in my personal experience the slots seem to like me more there...  :89-

Well, several weeks ago I went to Boyd's Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City, IN. and was very impressed! The floor layout was pretty standard with gaming tables in the middle of the floor and slots surrounding. On the two long ends of the floor there are rooms on each end that house additional slots in the .01 .02 and .05 range, along the back wall are additional rooms for high stakes poker and slots. The Gaming floor is very large and everything is spaced nicely so it really is not overcrowded, even with the machines being all occupied. The machines played well and it was very enjoyable. I spent 1 1/2 hours on a WMS Wizard of Oz video and walked away with an additional $225, not a huge sum but constant playing the entire time. There was an Ebay bank of machines and a couple of Star Wars but otherwise nothing new that caught my eye. Food in the buffet was the average price and quality. The have an adjoining hotel that starts arround $89 a night. This location impressed me where I would definitely come back again! :3-

They Cheat you and the pay-outs suck!
I hit a $4500.00 Jackpot in there one night and they would not pay me. They said the replayed the video and said I used a cheating device. Come on now, if I were to use a cheating device, I would have hit the $25 and $50 slots. (I did not even know there where cheating devices) All I was doing is rubbing my slot and saying "Come On Baby, You can do it"
Anyways I ended up getting into a big yelling match with the floor guy. When he grabbed my arm, I pushed him and ended up getting tossed out by 6 big O security guards. They told me I was banned for 24 hours (How dumb)
The cool thing is when I got home the local news reported it. They made that casino look so bad.
It has been 6 moths and I still have not been back or seen one red cent from them.
I go to the Choctaw Casino in Durant, OK now. The pay-outs are way better and they have tons of new and better slots.
 

I would have kept my mouth shut except one one request.. call the gaming authority... or whatever the Oklahoma indians have

That's the downside as far as players in Indian casino's, they have no state oversight since they are their own "nation"  So if they say "No Soup For YOU!!!"  Guess what? NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!!

You'd think they'd give you a little something to STFU, especially in these economic times. But I guess your only repercussion against no regulations is bad press.. which is what he got.

Probably the best $5 slots I have ever enjoyed are at Blue Chip, and have (had) 4 Deck Blackjack as well, at least now they have the hotel, before you had to go to South Bend to stay, for a Boat one of the of the nicest set ups around, if you make it through town without getting swiss cheesed, always a good place to stop if heading east from the Chicago show

  I am going to go to the old Bethlehem steel site, likely on my next trip to A.C.

I recently went to Atlantic City, stayed at the Tropicana for a couple nights, Harrahs another, then went to the Mohegan Sun then Foxwoods, and stopped in at Seneca Niagara on the way home.

At the Tropicana I found a slot that I aspire to own someday, they had two actually, Dukes of Hazzard, WMS video slot with a few bonus screens on it.  For those of you that don't know, I am a Dukes of Hazzard fan and have a collection of show related items including some items that John Schneider autographed in person at the Indianapolis Mopar Nationals years back.

I didn't have much luck, and only won some lesser amounts, which I put back in.  Onr of them was the minor progressive on the Dukes machine for about $500, which didn't last long.
The Mohegan Sun is a beautiful complex which has live bands playing in one of the casinos that are attached through a sort of mall.  You can walk from one to the other through this mall.  I will visit this casino again, however my luck was the worst here, I believe their machines have a low payback percentage (high hold).
I liked MGM at Foxwoods and won a little there, but again it went back into the machines.
Seneca Niagara gave me some free food which was great and some slot money to play which I won a little with on a hot shots machine, Evel Knevel took this back but i went home happy.

Well, yesterday I went to the "new" Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, IN. they had at least doubled the size of the boat, maybe even bigger than that. I liked the layout and the gaming floor is massive. Gaming tables actually dot the floor in several places instead of one location. Slot banks were Ebay, Powerball, Star Wars,Star Trek and Wizard of OZ bunched together. Looking for my two favorite Aristocrap games, Pompeii and King of the Nile, I only found 2 Pompeii machines in the whole place and no King. I really liked the WMS Hot, Hot Super Respin bank that included Zeus II, Griffin's Gate and Hearts of Venice, sounds, features and gameplay was impressive. I wonder if these are NXT or NXT2? I saw many of the new WMS transmissive reel games, 2 different Wiz of OZ, Bruce Lee and they were popular with the patrons. I saw a new Aristocrat cabinet I had not seen before with a molded belly display below the bet deck. I took a few pics on my phone, I will post on another thread. Food was typical, but the large windows overlooking the marina and lakefront were a nice touch. I wo0uld definitely go back, it blows the Harrah's at Joliet away!!  :89-

   Do you mean the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, N.Y....I make it a point to go to that casino every time I am in the Buffalo area as my Father played slots and poker there all the time...  My mother still goes their now and then... I even have some posts of the place somewhere under "best wins at a casino" section.  The only other Seneca Niagara casino I know of is in Salamanca, N.Y. at the base of Allegheny State Park.

Yes, the Niagara Falls Seneca Niagara, let me know if you're up this way and I'll see if I can get away, Stormrider is another member that I'll meet there sometime.   you should try the Niagara Fallsview on this side of the border also sometime.

   Well actually I will be up that way sometime in the first half of August this year and will definitely be going to BOTH Casino's on both sides of the boarder as my sister owns a cottage up at Sherkston Beaches in Canada...  :3-
