Title: Wms Jackpot Stampede Deluxe Dotmation Loud Hum
Post by: markhart on June 17, 2009, 03:24:56 AM
I have a Williams Jackpot Stampede Deluxe Dotmation slot that plays fine for about  minutes, then locks up and makes a loud humming noise.  Is this a symptom of a failing lower power supply?

Either that or it can't remember the words.......that happens when they get old.....  :72-

I am not a WMS person but the humming might be one of your solinoids being pulled due to an abnormal function. Still the likely cause is power related (low voltage causes the lock up and abnormal function). If possible you could isolate which part of the power supply it by putting your meter on say your 12v line and seeing if it drops after a lock up. Might just be as easy to swap power supplies.

Markhart,
just for kicks...try to pin point EXACTLY where the humming is coming from...
that'll help a lot in getting the humming to stop too with our members...
someone will may of likely has had the same problem as your machine at one time and
will be able to help you fix it!
