Where do you store eproms?  I was thinking of those plastic trays that have different compartments.     But I don't want to get them zapped  :50-

There are so many kinds of chips they need to be separated or I'll never figure out what chip is for what machine..  :103-

I used to have a small cardboard box with anti-staic foam, that quickly became two layers.
I then got a custom wood box as a gift from one of our long term members who is a excellent wood worker.
I use this for my S+ chips - I also have large cissco box with the anti-staic foam for my PE+ chips

I am sure you can get strips of just the foam and use it in your tackle box.

Incidently I use sock sorters to keep my reel strips neat in a drawer.

That anti-static foam is a good idea -  I have to google it.  :3-

Its very common for shipping electronic components.
The pins just press right in nicely. Your local mom&pop PC store might have a ton of it if they purchase boards and put together custom PCs.
Proably get it there free or next to free vs buying new on internet.

I use eprom tubes(and lots of them) for the chips without the Canadian sticky crap on them and small cases with antistatic foam for the sticky ones as well as many drawers, boxes etc.  The sock sorters (dividers with square spaces) sound like a great idea.  I have lots of strips that I can file into them.  I currently store them on a shelf with each set or multiple sets wrapped in elastic bands or tie straps.  I have a lot of RWB strips (grey backlit back) as well as slant top glass to go with them, I don't like to keep thim in boxes with the glass, too easy to ruin.

It's a box with dividers into little squares, kind of like a wine rack but lays flat.

I use fruitcake tins to store the reel strips, I had a grandmother that loved to torture us with that toxic waste every Christmas.

Hmm, it never occurred to me that anyone would need to sort socks. Is this one of those products you see on late night tv, you know, "call in the next two minutes and we'll give you a second sock buddy absolutely FREE! But wait, there's more..." ($23.95 + S&H of $147.50)


That conductive foam is surprisingly expensive, $14 a square foot. I'll be surprised if anyone is willing to give it away, but you can buy it here (http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=12660-ND). Cut it to size and stick it into cookie sheets. For smaller archives, here is a more practical solution (http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?qs=5%2fQIiXGsQs65eck%252b42u5zw%3d%3d).

I got these little cases when I bought a volume of eproms, they had been for upgrade sets for printers I believe.

My wife does a great job of keeping my dress socks in one drawer and my sport socks in another.
Matching pairs are however optional....

I have several of those, and they are awesome. I am sure that many will like those. Do you remember how much they run for if you have purchased them before? It may help some people that are curious (and impatient  :97- ) now, given that the company is closed now!  :72-

There out of business?  I did a quick google search and didn't find anything for sale.

I have a rather growing library of  chips manifesting and I  use the basic small parts bins from wal mart or home depot.  I found the smaller drawer type work great. I line each with anti static foam. And  each drawer will hold with room to pick up the chips and I can add a 2nd layer of foam and get a second row if need be.  Because they are readily available as my library grows i just buy another and they stack nicely(although recommend securing to wall) and fit next to each other nicely and so nice to find something practical and useful while the ease of looking at front of drawer for label scan down around and one finger pull open and if opps wrong drawer simply push right back in fractions of a second I can open and safely close  the drawers. Also great for storing everything small you can find by 'placing things you dont know where they go' on the tops of them. By the way I am sure somewhere around is a business sector that deals in items needing anti static foam. Radio shacks, television, or most any computer outlet. I have found either in the back just laying there or if you ask  someone inside the place if they have any they toss in trash.  I have found most of them when they receive and item they dont keep it around and toss it out. Just make sure  its anti static and not just pink foam. Oh they conviently move  around if necessary without alot of effort too. just another idea. If you do the chip thing with bally s55oo proseries chips I would  like to know more from you.
