Title: Igt s-2000 back-lit reels Post by: PWRSTROKE on September 25, 2008, 12:12:59 AM I got a load of brand new s-2000 standard 3-reel assemblies a while back. They worked fine but all the housing/"Buckets" around the lights were melted. This occured from new installs on the casino floor WITHOUT the cpu/processor tray in!-(how stupid). Any way without the cpu in and powered up the lights burn at FULL voltage without moving and melt the buckets and as well scorch the reel strips in that area and warp the baskets. I found that regular non-back-lit s-2000 reels are interchangable and the same-Baskets, stantchons etc. . When you get this concern biggest thing is just finding the housing/buckets which surround the lights. The older version (chrome) will work on newer (white) for housings as well. Just wanted to share that with some folks that did'nt know. When the machine is functioning properly at idle the lights will still be on-but very dimly lit.
