Title: S2000 eprom error -0x4 Post by: dirtbuster01 on July 26, 2009, 04:48:27 PM I have been working on an S2000 and it keeps coming up with eprom error. When I turn the jackpot key it reads eprom -0x4. I have tried to use the clear chip to clear it and was unsuccessful. I tried replacing the SB,SG's,Ram, and Version chips with known good working ones and then the board I was was using came up with the same error. Does anyone know to fix this problem or what it is?
Title: Re: S2000 eprom error -0x4 Post by: idylewild1 on July 26, 2009, 09:16:29 PM Keep turning the jackpot reset key and it should tell you to press the test button for 2-3 seconds. It should tell you to close the main door. The machine will say call attendant --- open door and another error will occur. Turn reset key two or three times and it should set to be played. You may have to repeat this serveral times. Hope this helps.

If so, the reel eprom may not be a "high speed" eprom and it will code out. The reel eprom needs to be burnt onto a 27C64 or 27C64A. If the reel eprom is a 27C64Q, it won't work.
