The second link (Apex machine) has solved a long standing mystery for me. This is the mysterious "Mills Hitop" with the coin entry on the wrong side! Probably won't mean anything to most people, but it's been like Bigfoot, mysteriously (for those who notice these things) showing up from time to time in the background in tv and movies, but nobody's ever seen one in real life. I presume a movie prop house has got one and rents it out.

Does anyone know of slot machines in museum collection anywhere else. Surely vegas should have a slot museum ? Title: Re: Antique Slots Post by: Op-Bell on August 24, 2009, 05:05:00 AM The state museum in Carson City has the Liberty Belle collection - these are machines made by Charles Fey, inventor of the 3 reel slot machine, and donated by his grandson Marshall when he sold off their Liberty Belle Saloon collection a couple of years ago. Mostly extremely old, and in glass cases. There were other collections, including a good one at Virginia City, but they've been broken up and sold in the last few years. Las Vegas has the awesome Pinball Museum on east Tropicana (you can play all the exhibits) and there are some fine private collections, but if there's a slot collection open to the public, I don't know of it. Bally Manufacturing has two or three old timers in its reception area; IGT has nothing but modern stuff. Games of Nevada was sold last year and all its old stuff went for scrap. Collections are made by people who care, but corporations have no soul.
