Title: NLG Radio? Post by: reho33 on September 03, 2009, 04:28:03 PM I have another hobby where some people put together a "online" radio show (really just an mp3 file) every 2 weeks for people to call in to an 800 number and hosts could talk to users about various problems with their equipment. Maybe the powers to be here could host a show each month about slot topics and people could call in with comments or just perspectives on the current events in the industry. then the mp3's could be posted here and anyone could listen to them and become more interested in our hobby. I know that this forum exists for that but an audio "show" might me fun to do as well. Comments?
Title: Re: NLG Radio? Post by: Bettor Slots on September 03, 2009, 04:44:19 PM Sweet...I like the idea. We could even have guest speakers / interviews via telephone with people like Patti Hart, Dave Johnson, Pat Cavanaugh, and Tony Ciorciari to give us some insite and tips on some things.

You don't even need a phone number - you could skype of google voice. NLG could become like This Week in Tech for old games!! Title: Re: NLG Radio? Post by: reho33 on September 04, 2009, 11:37:01 AM The idea is cool because it might attract people to our hobby that otherwise would not think about it. By mentioning the vendors above they would get sales and Joeylc woulld get sales he otherwise would not get. Also, did you ever notice that Home Depot offers free classes on how to do things? It is done to get more people to buy building materials which increases profits for them. Maybe NLG could offer (excuse me if it is being done already) in store " classes" on how to install a bill validator, clear errors, etc. I really think that with all of the s+ and s2000 slots destined to be retired over the next few years, the market will increase and more and more people will want a slot machine for their home. It's the ultimate coolness factor. (Bear in mind that pinball machines are way, way more expensive than slots and take 100% of a persons money as opposed to a slot that may take some of a persons money over time). I even have a friend that has been in professional broadcasting and I might, with NLG's permission, do a "mock up" or promo and post it on here to see what a show might sound like.
EDIT: Ok, here is a "mockup" that I did in mp3 format: |
