Title: Speaker buzz Post by: Yoeddy1 on September 04, 2009, 04:24:05 AM My speaker makes a buzzing sound. When the door is closed you can't really hear it, but I noticed when the door is open, if I pull the white test knob out, the buzzing stops for a few seconds and then it comes back on. Any tips or tricks in terms of what to look for regarding a buzz through the speaker?
:103- Thanks! Title: Re: Speaker buzz Post by: jay on September 04, 2009, 04:48:09 AM This is a known issue with the 16mhz boards (a 16mhz board has no dipswitches or volume pot).
In a casino environment its not an issue, one suggestion is to get more slots and crank up the volume ..... :25- There is a mod where you can use a resistor and a cap across the speaker leads - basically creating what is known as a cross over or low bypass filter. Unfortuntely I don't the values, perhaps one of our more astute electrical engineer types can hop in here. Dial that you can turn left or right with a mini screwdriver. Would be nice if the buzz could be eliminated.

If it's not bothering you with the door closed, though, I wouldn't start fixing stuff that isn't broken. Title: Re: Speaker buzz Post by: StatFreak on September 04, 2009, 10:52:22 AM It is normal for the 10MHz board to have the digital buzz. It's just a lot quieter than the 16MHz board. As knagl said, I would leave it as is.
