Title: need a fake yoke - Ceronix
Post by: badbaud on September 08, 2009, 05:09:35 PM
Running into a chirping problem on some old 1492's that turns out being a bad yoke, not the usual power supply fault tree.

Has anyone devised a fake yoke that I can plug into the board, to load down the board properly, to determine if the yoke is bad?

I know that one side of the yoke resistance reads around 5 Ohms while the other reads around 15 to 20 Ohms.

Can I simply substitute some power resistors of those values or does it have to be some kind of inductive load?
