Title: Convert Screen Capture to JPG?
Post by: SAT (aka GANDHI) on September 30, 2008, 06:59:47 PM
Anyone know how to convert this screen capture (now a Doc File).  I got this hit online and could only do a screen capture and paste it to Word since that's all I know how to do.  I would like to post it as a JPG file.

Help Abounds:

I used Print Key 5.10 . . . . .

You will need to surf for an older version if you want it for free.

It returns all the functions back to the print screen key that MicroSoft did away with.

'da Monster of screen capture.  :91-

P.S. Nice Win  :3-

Hey SlotNess....  Can you do it again for me?  This one makes me think the free online ones are rigged (to the players advantage).

Im in Win XP and i still use the Print Screen key. This is the process i use to screen capture

SHIFT + Print Screen (captures everything currently shown on the monitor)
ALT + Print Screen (captures only the active window, no matter the size)

Once you have captured the image, open up Microsoft paint and make sure you have the blank area sized really small or your left with a white border.
Select Edit then Paste and there you go
Then goto File -> Save As and change the format of the file into a .JPG or other format of choice, personally in paint a .GIF works best with 32bit color images

enjoy

Good tip. Karma to you silverkorn. You can also paste the screen shot into MS Word. If you do that, and then re-copy it to the clipboard from Word, you can then paste it as a new image into most modern photo software. Or you can save the Word document with the images as well.

I use the MS WORD trick as well, it comes in very handy, but the Printkey utilites are pretty cool also. Depends on how much you do it.

I use Cropper for all my screen captures. It is a free program that lets you specify a capture area or full screen. You can select output to .jpg, .png, printer, clipboard and more. Good stuff! Requires .NET 2.0 (I believe).
