Title: led button lights-voltage
Post by: TTJACKPOT on September 18, 2009, 05:14:41 PM
Hi--I have a Bally s5500 and am thinking of replacing the deck button bulbs with led bulbs--I have seen them at Happ Controls but I am not sure of the voltage--they must be either 6 or 12 v bulbs--Also I believe they are the wedge style--Can someone confirm the bulb voltage or any other information on where to get these led bulbs--Thanks: John

6V T-wedge

From Happ you want to be ordering any of these model numbers:

91-10WB-53W
91-10WB-53B
91-10WB-53Y
91-10WB-53R

If you know the voltage check with MCM electronics they have them in 6 and 12V and they do not charge an Arm and a Leg for shipping.

I bought the 194 and 555 ones from Happ I think I got a bad batch and yes they did replace the LED's without any questions. The second set also eventually failed as well. I think it is the supplier not Happ that has a Quality Control issue.  The ones I got from MCM have been great.

I also bought my LEDs from MCM because they were quite a bit less expensive after taking Happ's "surprise" shipping into consideration. They've been in my machines since May 2007 and are going strong.

<EDIT> After reading archjds' post and remembering that Foster has s2000 machines, I thought it important to point out that I bought 6v bulbs for my S+ and Bally s5500 machines, not 12v bulbs.

alright, alright....let's start another LED bulb thread and debate...  :97-  :25-

I never followed the other one so maybe this is a repeat....

I have experimented with just about every bulb out there on S2000's and compared quality with cost...fried a few LED displays in the process...was kind of fun to see the board smoke some...but kids don't try this at home...

Hands down I am convinced that the best 12V solution for S2000 machines is Super Bright LED's.  The reason I like them is that they offer 2 sizes.  I really find that the 3 and 4 LED big bulbs are really overpowering for the smaller buttons on the S2000.  I know a lot of guys use them but I think you can do better and have better balanced light on the deck.  So they offer a smaller bulb, same base size, with only a single LED, and in my opinion the correct amount of light.

Best of all...DIRT CHEAP!!! And a regular size order for any home user is only $5 shipping via USPS Priority.

Prices:

Small Button(single LED) (6 colors) = 79 cents to a $1.39 each depending on color.

Max Bet Button (4 LED) (6 colors) = $1.59 to $2.59 each depending on color.

I am guessing someone posted this information already...but what the heck...nothing wrong with a refresh for some that missed it.  Some pictures below:

which viewing angle is the best? 90 or 120 on the small and 32 or 90 on the large?

The wider the angle the better in both cases as it reduces the "hot spot" effect on the button surface.....yes I bought them both and experimented.  :79-

PS ~ Any of you guys with I Dream of Jeanie, I recommend the Amber for the Bet Max...matches the orange in the glass perfectly....my final touch is an orange candle.  Tabasco, Sizzling 7's and Phantom....Red is the way to go.  Have fun.

I'll have to order some of these sometime to check them out. Any luck with backlight assembly LEDs that are worth it?

nope....the standard Xenon bulbs are best I feel because they are so close to the strip...the LED's are a little too bright and focused for that...just my opinion.

Let me know how you like them....post a fun pic of you machine.
