Title: Re: IGT S + BARCREST PINBALL Post by: stayouttadabunker on September 22, 2009, 12:36:07 PM Jeesh!...I don't even have "64-1" on my list of error codes....
Of course, my list of codes are for the S+... :25- You need to find a Barcrest book/manual dude... I also heard there were a couple of different manufacturers of that model... Title: Re: IGT S + BARCREST PINBALL Post by: a69mopar on September 22, 2009, 01:17:33 PM 64-1 is communication link down. This code indicates that a progressive link is down, verify connections with the progressive equipment. This is from the book.

Tilt Codes Malfunction Condition/Action Required 12 Low Battery Replace the battery on the processor board. 21 Coin-In Jam Check for an obstruction in coin-in path and verify ABC Optics. 23 Excessive Coins In Check coin-in optic board for proper operation 3100 Extra Coin Out Check the hopper brake spring, verify the coin-out optic using both the input test and the hopper test. 3200 Coin-Out Jam Check for an obstruction in the coin-out path and verify coin-out optics using the input test. 3300 Hopper Empty If the hopper is not empty, check for a jammed hopper by performing the hopper test. 34_0 Coin-Out Optics Flooded with Light The Secure Count Hopper sensor has detected an attempt to cheat the hopper. Clear this tilt by closing the main door. Note: This tilt information applies only if a secure count hopper is installed. 35_0 Coin-Out Reverse Direction The Secure Count Hopper sensor has detected that an object has been inserted into the coin-out path. Clear this tilt by closing the main door. Title: Re: IGT S + BARCREST PINBALL Post by: slots of fun on September 22, 2009, 07:41:08 PM Yes it could be . The 64-1 code usually is a bad battery in the top box . The battery was bad when replacing it the old battery had leaked on the board. The top box can be tested in a stand alone mode when i try to test in stand alone nothing happens only the red power light comes on the MPU4 board it indicates 5 volts on MPU board. Thanks found a board will try it when it comes in will let you know. Ron (SLOTS OF FUN)
Title: Re: IGT S + BARCREST PINBALL Post by: tollguy316 on September 22, 2009, 08:54:31 PM Before you too far ahead... Take off the top glass and open the door with all of the bulbs on it. At the base of the top box; you will see 2 plastic screws that you loosen to slide out the whole MPU4 unit. Slide the unit out a few inches and slide back in sternly and then re-tighten the screws. I get the 64-1 error sometimes when I move my machine. Good luck. Bill
Title: Re: IGT S + BARCREST PINBALL Post by: cp on September 22, 2009, 09:52:44 PM My initial question would be... Was the machine working before the 64-1 code ? I remember when I had a group of the IGT/Barcrests come in from a casino purchase several years ago... I had that code show up on 2 machines. After trading out known, working MPU 4, Checking batteries, replacing Power Supply with known working ones... Still had the 64-1... come to find out the communication cable/connection was gone on one (I didn't know anything about Barcrests) and another was missing the small interlink board "inline" on the comm cable. Attaching pic of the connections into the mother board. Maybe this might help you or maybe others that come across this problem.
Title: Re: IGT S + BARCREST PINBALL Post by: slots of fun on September 22, 2009, 11:22:00 PM Chris: The comm cable to the mother board is hooked up the one you show and the in line board is there . The comm cable is going to the black comm box in the rear of the machine the green light is flashing so the S+ part is looking for the top box . The comm cable small blue plug in the top box is hooked to the comm A port on the program module. The machine was working then the reel 42 error the owner let it sit for about 8 month never fixed it i got it from him about a week ago . Replaced the reel assy after that the error 64-1 checked all cables then pulled the top box removed the MPU4 assy checked the battery it was bad only 0.28 volts its a 2.4 volt 3 pin battery replaced the battery there was leakage on the board . check power supply in top box all voltage are good. The red light on the MPU4 board is on indicating 5 volts on board is good . Thanks Ron (SLOTS OF FUN)
Title: Re: IGT S + BARCREST PINBALL (REPAIRED) Post by: slots of fun on September 24, 2009, 11:54:47 PM Machine is up and playing . :3- Replaced the MPU4 assy. in top box . The battery leakage on the board must have damaged it . :50- :50- thanks to all. :131- :131-
