Title: IGT S+ - AUTOFILL HOPPER UNIT Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on September 24, 2009, 03:59:47 PM Well heres a new one (at least for me) - one of the IGTs I got in San Antonio has a unit mounted below the reels (also supporting boards in the top). Unit is marked "THE ATTENDANT AUTOMATIC HOPPER FILL SOLUTION" made by GLENVIEW SYSTEMS.
Anyone interested in this item? I have a spare board as well. Title: Re: IGT S+ - AUTOFILL HOPPER UNIT Post by: stayouttadabunker on September 24, 2009, 04:17:21 PM I've seen the Auto-Fill hopper thingy-box before...it's pretty cool... :89-
but what the heck is that big green board up there in the Top Box? :129- :128- That's almost as big as the S+'s MPU boards! :71- Whatever you do....don't go pulling the wires and plugs outta that thing up there... at least document it! We all may need to know how to hook that stuff up... the harnesses up there look to be all intact! Title: Re: IGT S+ - AUTOFILL HOPPER UNIT Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on September 24, 2009, 04:37:43 PM there are an awful lot of wiring in this box - i assume most if not all have to do with this autofill.
Title: Re: IGT S+ - AUTOFILL HOPPER UNIT Post by: stayouttadabunker on September 24, 2009, 04:45:22 PM Yes,
But there are quite a bit of wires going from the extra power supplies up there to the green board and the mikohn progressive display controller. I assume the machine came with a progressive display unit as well? I would be interested in the complete top box guts w/all wiring/and connectors if you don't want it... You can have the actual top box, candle and fluorescent lighting if you'd like, Makes it easier to sell the machine that way... I would like to document the unit for NLG and future members. The machine itself I'm not interested in...I have some... :5- Title: Re: IGT S+ - AUTOFILL HOPPER UNIT Post by: Bettor Slots on September 24, 2009, 05:18:06 PM Wow that is a pretty unique feature...let us know when you find an automatic Scotch dispenser inside one of those machines.

where some guy installed a cooler with a tap out the side to fill up his mug of beer! He connected it the his "Service" button... :72- Title: Re: IGT S+ - AUTOFILL HOPPER UNIT Post by: Bettor Slots on September 24, 2009, 05:39:02 PM .
Title: Re: IGT S+ - AUTOFILL HOPPER UNIT Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on September 24, 2009, 06:19:24 PM which board controls the progressive - the one on the back wall with the yellow transformer off to the left? if so I have an extra of that board as well - there is no progressive display on any of the machines I have.

Did you see the post I made a few days ago (here (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=4432.msg38567#msg38567))? It has a link for documentation for the Glenview Attendant. Does your model have the extra wiring and LEDs that go up to the candle (and display a small green or red LED through the candle to show the status of the extra hopper)? The silver box with the holes in your top box appears to be a Mikohn progressive display power supply and controller board, and is not related to the hopper filler. It's hard for me to tell in the picture what that yellow transformer is attached to -- I suspect it may be related to the Attendant hopper unit. Are there any markings on that board that might hint as to its manufacturer or purpose? Edit: Aah, I think I see the green/red LED display -- it looks like whoever put the thing in was lazy and mounted it on the front of the hopper unit, rather than wiring it up to the candle. Title: Re: IGT S+ - AUTOFILL HOPPER UNIT Post by: knagl on September 24, 2009, 08:04:07 PM had to be a nickel or quarter machine i bet ?? talk about getting lazy for the casino help .. they should spend more time cleaning smoke off glass than to fill hoppers lol The documentation said that the thing could also do dollar tokens as well as quarters or nickles. As far as why they had it, I don't think it had to do with laziness, but rather with increased revenue for the casinos. Less frequent hopper fills and/or fills when a machine isn't in use (because the LED indicates that the machine needed to be filled) equals more machine uptime and more money being made without an increase in the number of machines on the floor. Not to mention, increased customer satisfaction as customers wouldn't have to wait around for hopper fills nearly as often. Title: Re: IGT S+ - AUTOFILL HOPPER UNIT Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on September 24, 2009, 08:17:44 PM kind of a albatross now - TITO - dah. Anyway - I am going to strip all of this stuff out of the machine as I don't want it anyway. Open for offers. Including the Progressive power boards. Will take pics of the entire unit when out of machine and show here.
