Post by: stayouttadabunker on September 29, 2009, 06:00:29 PM

I wanna save my money for new machines to play with... :96-

I just bought a used TDS-210 Tektronix LCD scope last month for $450 off a guy in Colorado that had it listed on Craigslist. It's nice and small... and very lightweight.

Yup!

Except mine has a beautiful screen and a power button on it. ;)   It also came with 2 Tektronix brand scope probes.

you might also consider a logic analyzer for the computer based systems.  there are some interesting usb versions of those as well.

Cheers,

Bunker,

My old office building that I built about 5-6 years ago was in walking distance to about 10 Callaway buildings, and Taylor Made, Titelist, and......., and......, and..... It was Golf Company Mecca!  :109- :109- :109- :39- <---- Bunker  :72-

Maybe I should cruise there at night time and check out the Dumpsters for you??? One man's trash is another man's treasure!!! You seem handy enough, with a little heat and a good vice, you could straighten out a Big Bertha, couldn't you!???!  :97- :97- :97- If I go, I will wear a Tyvex suit, a respirator, and 10 pairs of latex gloves just in case someone pissed in the dumpster, or they have rotting food in the same dumpster!  :72- :25-

CH :95- :193-

Wow. :3- That's better than anyone I know :131-  .. unless you only played 9 holes. :96-

So to get back on topic, are there any other recommendations for a good, but inexpensive scope?

I really haven't gotten into it too much just yet because I'm sure there's a lot to learn in that department as well.
I have to do some more reading and see if it's worthwhile for me to get one.
First of all, I don't know a lot about them and how to use them properly to diagnose problems in circuitry.
It's just another tool that I want to get for my workbench...however, I need to learn more about their capabilities.
What good is getting a scope when I may only pick it up once per year?
I want a tool that will be handy for what I do...not just because I think it would be cool to have one.
Shows you how much I know about scopes... :72-
Do schematics and drawings give you any ideas how the wavelengths should appear on a scope for instance?
