Title: Gas pumps anyone? Post by: Jimise on October 06, 2009, 03:22:00 AM Does anyone else collect old gasoline pumps? This one is a Tokheim 39-B
made in July of 1953. I have cleaned, Polished, Sanded, And painted every nut and bolt, and part on this pump. I left all the working parts on the inside of the pump when I restored it so you can see how it works. (Most people gut them) The pump still runs when you pull the knob by the gas nozzle. I have 3 more in the garage to restore someday........ I can't wait to retire!! Title: Re: Gas pumps anyone? Post by: Jimise on October 06, 2009, 03:26:22 AM A couple more pics! Thanks!! :89-

My father in law owned a gas station for years and years... he will love these pictures when I show him what you've done. Great job! Title: Re: Gas pumps anyone? Post by: Forrhouse on October 06, 2009, 05:59:40 AM Very cool. Would love one of those someday.
Eric Title: Re: Gas pumps anyone? Post by: Op-Bell on October 06, 2009, 06:04:09 AM They always have a few gas pumps in the VCA auctions. They fetch insane prices. The older pumps, the hand pumps with a glass tank, often go for more than $15,000.

I was going to have it dispense beer, but I was stuck with one kind. So I put together the wall of beer next to it. Title: Re: Gas pumps anyone? You guys have done wonders restoring those old pumps. :3- :3- :131- :131- Now, if you could only dispense gasoline from them at the stated price on the pump, you'd really have something. Title: Re: Gas pumps anyone? Post by: Ken Layton on November 07, 2009, 03:00:11 PM I have a friend restoring a Wayne 70 pump.

Title: Re: Gas pumps anyone? Post by: jay on November 07, 2009, 05:09:28 PM Neat stuff...
I have a tap tower with 3 taps..... but I had no handles. A couple of loose key strokes on ebay and I now have 70 of them..... I am looking for creative ways to display them - the wall-o-beer looks good but I really don't want to have a 35 foot rail..... Title: Re: Gas pumps anyone? Post by: Jackpot on May 08, 2010, 05:43:06 PM I put a dollar coin in mine to make it work.

Title: Re: Gas pumps anyone? Post by: jay on October 18, 2011, 02:00:35 AM We have a store dedicated to Lift Master.
These are hydrolic lifts that allow you to put 2 cars in the space of one assuming you have the head room to do so. This store has a number of antique gas pumps on display. I love the look of some of them, but could never justify the space that they take up as they have no actual utility and putting a fully restored one in my garden would be a sin. |
