Title: s2000 setting the odds Post by: U.S.AutoService on October 08, 2009, 09:55:06 PM :99- My question is about setting the odds on S2000 machines. After I ram clear and set chip I have a choice of game percentages. I have set some to the highest of 98.01 %. But it seems like at that percentage it takes a long time in between wins. I set one machine to a lower percentage and it seems to be paying more often. These are for my aging mom to play and I would like her to hit more often.
Is it best to always set to the max ? Is there a better way to set these s2000 up ? Funny at 98.01 I played 100 credits and only won one time and that was only 15 credits.

Using empirical observation to extrapolate that 97.00% wins more often than 98.01% after just 100 credits is simply not a valid conclusion. If you compare the virtual stops of the 97% pay table to the 98% pay table you will see that the only difference is one less single BAR symbol (or something similarly insignificant, but enough to lower the overall payback percentage by one percent over the course of millions of pulls). The difference between an 82% and 98% virtual stop listing will be more marked, but essentially the same, more blanks and less single/double/triple BARs, cherries, red 7s, etc. What happens for the lower percentages is that the machine saves up (read: sucks in more of your money) for the larger prizes by paying out less of the smaller prizes (and, if the percentage is low enough, some of the medium prizes) to arrive at the lower theoretical payback percentage over the course of millions of pulls. If you study the virtual stops of any program in detail and compare the differences between lower and higher percentages, this becomes crystal clear and pretty straightforward. Always use the highest possible percentage. Period. Thanks for posting in my absence. The tournament chip can be something around 125-150% instead of the 200-450% chips. Just give one of our esteemed vendors a call and tell them what you're looking for, what kinda of machine you have and what chips are presently installed on the MPU board!
