Title: A Fix for Displaced Door Sensors:
Post by: reho33 on October 12, 2009, 10:23:44 PM
I wanted to make a technical contribution to the forum so I took pictures of my S+. The door sensor would not line up right so I drilled a hole in between the other 2 holes for the door sensor and dropped the sensor "lower" than it ordinarily would be. I guess my door is saggy and thats why it won't line up on the normal holes. Anyway the problem is solved and the latch goes all the way down now. I have pics of the hole and the sensor attached after:

That's a good solution for the receiver optic reho!  :3-
Can I see a picture of the door side emitter optic and its present position?

The door optic is in it's regular position on the door. If you look at your own S+ you can see it. As a matter of fact, measure the distance between the center of the optic to the bottom of the door. I bet that you have wide fluctuations on all the S+'s. I think the reason that mine is way off is because the machine is 89 vintage and the door is sagging a bit because the case lost its "trueness". I will take a pic tomorrow.

Another solution is to loosen all the screws on the door hinge and have someone lift the door while you tighten the
screws. It helps a little on closing too. This only works when the sensors are a little out of alignment.

Well as you can see, mine were about .25" out (don't know why) Anyway, it is working well and no double sided tape! :72-
