Title: Vision Key Chip?? Post by: mah on October 25, 2009, 02:20:00 AM Just bought my first Vision game, a Double Double Diamond. The LCD sometimes says, Look out for the mystery bonus", but I have never had any kind of bonus game come up. I went into the setup and there were 3 bonus game choices but none of them could be activaed and it said i need a key chip. Could someone enlighten me on the subject of key chips: what they are? are they available for purchase? I looked at all of the posts and there is very little mention.
Thanks! - There is alot of good info at this site! Title: Re: Vision Key Chip?? Post by: mah on October 25, 2009, 02:29:49 AM I apologize in advance if this is one of the things that are not supposed to be discussed.
Title: Re: Vision Key Chip?? Post by: Foster on October 25, 2009, 02:31:41 AM A key chip unlocks the 7 Key Chip Menu so you can make changes to those settings.
I believe you need a Key 17. Key Chip instructions 1 Open Door 2 Turn Power off 3 Remove Coin Tray 4 Remove MPU 5 Remove Base Chip 6 Install Key Chip 7 Install MPU 8 Turn on Machine 9 watch for 2 Orange or Yellow LED's, IF you get only 1 of the LED's on then there was an error. 10 Turn off Machine 11 Remove MPU 13 Remove Key Chip 14 Install Base Chip 15 Install MPU 16 Turn Power On 17 Machine should enter key chip menu after it boots. Title: Re: Vision Key Chip?? Post by: mah on October 25, 2009, 03:14:09 AM Thank you for the info. Which one is the base chip? There are 2 game chips. One of them? Sorry, I'm only familiar with changing game chips in the older IGT's.
Also, once I get to the key chip menu, I assume I'll be able to select which bonus game I want? What else can be changed? Title: Re: Vision Key Chip?? Post by: Bettor Slots on October 25, 2009, 03:51:52 AM Key 17 is correct. The chip you want to change out is the longest one you see, should start with SB.
If you want to change the accounting denomination on the machine you are going to need a Clear chip....a 97. Title: Re: Vision Key Chip?? Post by: Foster on October 25, 2009, 03:55:07 AM Base Chip is u21,
label starts out SB0xxxxx or SB1xxxxxx. Look in submit a new file section I uploaded a file named O3_Section_2_Software_menus.pdf it will give you a decent overview The game chips and the configuration of your machine will determine what you can change and should change. Write down any settings you change so if you make a mistake you can change them back. Title: Re: Vision Key Chip?? Post by: CaptainHappy on October 25, 2009, 04:48:02 AM That is a common chip that can be purchased from any of our vendors or members... You can post a WTB (Want to Buy) in the classified area and someone will help you out. Just tell them what you need!
