Title: Whats this??? Post by: HOGCAT on October 26, 2009, 08:00:17 PM And can I unhook it without problems?????
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/hogcat/DSCN0601.jpg) This is in the top of cabinet. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/hogcat/DSCN0603.jpg) I unplugged the power supply for it, and the machine still works. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/hogcat/DSCN0602.jpg) Here is another view of it. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/hogcat/DSCN0604.jpg) This plug goes up to the thing in the top cabinet, but hooks to nothing down by the hopper. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/hogcat/DSCN0607.jpg) And this plug lays down by the hopperalso, not hooked up to nothing. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/hogcat/DSCN0606.jpg) The machine runs fine on quarters, but the bill mechanism does not work at all, just makes a clicking-clunk sound all the time when plugged in. So I unhooked the bill mechanism. This is just my 3rd post here. Been messing with old Mills mechanical slots for years, but decided to mess with the newer stuff!!! Thanks for any help!!!! Post by: Ozzy on October 26, 2009, 10:24:10 PM This is an external player tracking unit that was used by the looks of it on the old IGT system, you should be able to remove all this peripheral add on equipment including the SMIB (slot machine interface board) without affecting your machine.
cheers Ozzy Title: Re: Whats this??? Post by: stayouttadabunker on October 27, 2009, 01:37:03 AM Ozzy is correct on that Hogcat... :89-
I'd like to dutifully add that it's a card reader called a Bally "Mastercom 220"... definitely an older player tracking unit. Title: Re: Whats this??? Post by: Ozzy on October 27, 2009, 10:38:27 PM :37- :37- wow I do need new glasses, took a closer look at the SMIB and (how did I miss it) saw "MASTERCOM 220" embossed on it. Sure did look like an EDT pcb from the short glance I took of it.
Back in DR for a short while. PS don't worry ALABAMA MAN, will see you when I return. cheers O Z Z Y Title: Re: Whats this??? Post by: knagl on October 27, 2009, 10:51:23 PM (http://i38.tinypic.com/fub1vb.jpg)
Approves Title: Re: Whats this??? Post by: HOGCAT on October 28, 2009, 05:57:56 PM Thanks for the info folks!!! Stripped it all out last nite, and the machine works as good as it did before.
Now I just got a cleat & set IC's today in the mail. Hope this will get the bill validator working. Title: Re: Whats this??? Post by: knagl on October 28, 2009, 06:33:23 PM Don't even bother with the clear chip yet -- go straight to the set chip to try and enable your validator. The clear chip is good to have as you may need it someday, but you do not need to perform a clear to enable the validator.

The clear seemed to go as per instructions, but the set did not seem to run the way the instructions said. Now the machine does not store the credits. But pays as soon as you win. WHAT HAPPENED???? Please remember I am new to these computer slots. Years of messing with the old mechanical slots. Title: Re: Whats this??? Post by: Foster on October 28, 2009, 09:51:44 PM Depending on which set chip and SP chip (game chip) you have will determine what settings are available to you.
Before playing press the cashout button it should either turn on or start flashing, either one means it will now allow wins to go to credits, and not pay from the hopper. See Ricks FAQ for BV enable and also how to find out which SP (game) and SS (reel) chips you have. Did the Set chip show a number when you first turned the machine on? I have not used my set 90 in a while but I do know it shows 90 shortly after power up. Title: Re: Whats this???
