Title: BALLY PRO - 24 VDC - testing hopper motors
Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on October 31, 2009, 02:25:34 PM
I have several hoppers that are not working - I tried to hook up a jumper to known? 24 vdc (the coin in/out meters  has 24 vdc using the yellow/blue wires and the grey/white is the ground - when I hook up my jumper to the motor - the motor does activate and run for a second or two then trips the fuse.  Is there an easier way to test these motors (using the forward/back buttons - motor will reverse but bind going forward) - just trying to narrow my problem to the board or the motor.

Quoting FOXSSLOTS1>>>(using the forward/back buttons - motor will reverse but bind going forward)

Contact brushings are shot in the motor I think?
Getting caught up in the armature when going forward....
I'd check the motor brakes too.

i stripped the hopper down to its core - there is nothing in the way.  they do go forward slowly -  will try a good motor to see what happens - seems strange I have 3 bad motors.
