Title: PE + = HOLD BUTTONS DEAD
Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on November 06, 2009, 11:42:54 AM
I have a PE + multigame that the monitor died on - game WORKED without monitor - had the monitor fixed - reinstalled - monitor works fine. Played a coin - dealt cards - none of the HOLD BUTTONS function.  Did the INPUT TEST - the HOLD BUTTONS stay at 0 - the other buttons DEAL CREDIT - go to 1 when activated.  Buttons are not stuck - wires are are all in place - reseated the MPU - door is locked and closed.   Anyone?  thanks.

Barry    if my memory is working   I think all those switches are in series       even though the button does not stay stuck in, the switch plunger itself could be depressed and engaged all the time.

With the power off, I'd check the micro switch on that particular button with a multimeter for continuity?
If the switch is good, then it could be a loose wire somewhere you're missing.
The multimeter is a great tool for checking your wiring...but so is the "Input Tests".
If you're only getting a "0" - then something on that line is loose or broken.

Hello Barry

Jims right - the buttons are all in series. The five holds are on one circuit and the rest on another. You can move the center wire from any one of the the hold buttons to one of your working switches (deal/Draw). If that particular button now toggles on your test screen the problem is most likely wiring goint to your first hold button.

Also check your reset switch status while in test mode (Actually check for anything thats on that shouldnt be). They sometime go bad and are permanently on. You get some strange things happening when this is the case.

I'm in the same boat as Barry, but it's the three left buttons (cash out, bet one, bet five) that aren't working on a new-to-me machine.  I haven't taken the multimeter to them yet as I have other issues (bad door optics, for starters).
