Title: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stormrider on November 11, 2009, 10:10:00 PM Hello All,
I could use some help getting this Mikohn up and running on a Bally S6000 First off am I right in assuming that a Cham 2 + will support 2 displays with 2 different progressive levels ? The game I'm working on has first progressive hitting on 3 blazing 7 with 3 coins played 2 level progressive amount wins when all $$$ are hit on 5 coins played. I'm not sure where to start with this in the psp program setting wise or the Mikohn Buttons on the Board itself I have setup up a few standalone's before but never 2 displays hoping someone here has and would like to share some tips. Picture of glass but it now has both meters installed. Thanks. Tim Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stayouttadabunker on November 12, 2009, 02:11:06 AM Help us a little bit...
We need a closeup, high resolution shot of the backside of the display boards, your logic board and power supply and wiring. Believe me, they look very familiar... need board numbers and a good look at the header connections. From there we can help ya with the correct logic and display support. Otherwise, we'll just be making wild, shot-in-the-dark-guesses... :96- Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stormrider on November 12, 2009, 09:50:26 AM My crappy camera won't take high res pictures but a little more info
Cham 2 + board info sta 2795 Mikohn V.205 Bally sticker on cham board reads 341-075-05 CSTLR STND ALONE (BLY) H0102427 (2) The 2 displays in glass read: cham2 12 cell rev A #321-007-60 both have piggy back board Really not sure if one cham2 + board supports 2 different level progressives in 1 machine (S6000) IF it does I need to know what my settings should be in the psp and on the cham2 + buttons that control the displays hope this helps. Thanks. Tim Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stormrider on November 12, 2009, 10:47:41 AM So far I managed to get both progressive levels to load via the psp
on the displays will see if it increments in the machine now. Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stayouttadabunker on November 12, 2009, 12:11:52 PM I noticed you have the board powered up ( the gray cable w/red/black/green and white wires)
But I think the white 6-pin header to the right of that is the one for the incrementation info from the machine's outputs. I'll search around and see which pins on that white header need to be connected to get the machine's data outputs. I noticed your board has 9 green/red LEDs. Mine only has 4 green/red LEDs. So, I am going to learn about your board as well... BTW mine is a cham2 but it doesn't say "+" and the version of the chip is a V3.1V... The documentation on all this old stuff is so scarce... It's a crapshoot trying to figure out even if the power supply, header pin-outs are correct too. I often have to go searching how others hooked up their's using the NLG searchbox. There is topics from years ago archived deep within the annuals of NLG somewhere. It would so much better if we could get step by step documentation of all these different progressive systems in better order so it would be easier to locate help when needed. There are 1,753 posts on Mikohns progressives alone... probably not anywhere else has there been so much discussion on this. Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stormrider on November 12, 2009, 02:15:58 PM I have gone through the archives allot of good reading for sure
I hooked it up to the S6000 but it wont increment pretty sure it only needs 2 wires for it to work but I hooked up all 4 being coin in,common, serial tx+,serial tx- not to mention in the S6000 configuration menu 11d some settings in there to setup I think my problem is when I sent the info via the psp that is was set to ms08 UNDER JACKPOT PROGRAMMING F8 which is IGT can't remember what F8 should be set for Bally anyone know ? Tim Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stayouttadabunker on November 12, 2009, 02:30:40 PM In the pocket guide under Machine Serial Settings (Protocol) on page 26
are the F8 key settings from MS19 to MS30. MS24 is allocated for Bally/5-way in the JP groups of Reg.14. Bally's older machines such as the E series uses the recommended PSP configuration for machine type of M-00 or M-05. F8 only goes to MS22 its been so long since I setup a Bally but I don't recall the F8 setting that high for it I must be missing something in the S6000 11D setup as both displays are working yet no increment will keep at it and report back. Thanks. Tim Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stayouttadabunker on November 12, 2009, 03:02:36 PM yes, I didn't understand why the pocket guide had settings that high either.
The PSP v.2 program I'm using only goes up to MS22 for the F8 button too. I'd just keep fooling around with it...that's what I had to do too. It's very easy to forget all this stuff if you don't play with it constantly. Just take notes and stick it in the machine by the displays so you'll have something to fall back on later on. I never remember to take notes...I need a note to remember to take a note....LOL Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: knagl on November 12, 2009, 04:18:36 PM I noticed you have the board powered up ( the gray cable w/red/black/green and white wires) Those should be data (coin pulses from the machine), not power. :71- Tim- As an aside, see if your camera has a "macro" setting (sometimes an icon of a flower) -- that'll help it to focus when you're only a couple of inches away from what you're taking a picture of (like the circuit board). Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stayouttadabunker on November 12, 2009, 05:08:05 PM knagl,
do you think Tim's ChamII+ supports two separate different level display meters? Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stormrider on November 12, 2009, 05:48:43 PM I noticed you have the board powered up ( the gray cable w/red/black/green and white wires) Those should be data (coin pulses from the machine), not power. :71- Tim- As an aside, see if your camera has a "macro" setting (sometimes an icon of a flower) -- that'll help it to focus when you're only a couple of inches away from what you're taking a picture of (like the circuit board). Knagl, Thanks for the tip, camera is an old Kodak I will check later for the icon well I do have 2 different levels up on the displays been back and forth between the pc and S6000 trying different settings still can't get it to increment just to many combos of settings. I guess until I find someone that has this 2 display progressive that can share settings I'm outta luck. Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: knagl on November 12, 2009, 07:30:15 PM Mark- I *think* the II+ can do two different levels. It's been about a year since I programmed mine (I need to do it again, too, once I change the battery), but I seem to recall that you could have more than one "jackpot token" that would stand for different jackpot amounts/levels.
Tim- I don't know anything about the Bally communication between the machine and the ChamII+ -- I only know that IGT uses simple coin pulses. Have you tried M-00 and M-05? Anyone- Is there a newer (or older?) version of PSP that supports MS-24? Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stormrider on November 12, 2009, 08:14:09 PM Finally :96- Success have both displays incrementing
I will have to go through all my settings in the 6000,psp,and cham 2 and post it I only used 2 wires off the cham 2 board to back (S6000)panel pins 3 and 12 and that made it increment. Thanks to all who tried to help. Tim Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stormrider on November 12, 2009, 09:08:48 PM Here is a quick shot of both progressives wish I had a vid of it in action
of the # flipping as it increments. 3 Blazing 7's gets bottom award 3 $$$ signs gets top award Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: knagl on November 12, 2009, 11:28:42 PM :105-

Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stormrider on November 13, 2009, 09:57:30 AM Ok here are my settings I am in no way an expert with these
I just love to tinker and won't quit until it works :96- In the Bally S6000 menu 11d 02=5 07=2 78lo=1 psp settings under jackpot programming F3=many F4=M08 F5=3 sec F6=JPO and JP1 to set my values I wanted for progressive amount and increments F7=$$$ F8=MS00 Cham2 + board with 2 buttons and switch both displays read Mfile 4 Odspeed I set mine to 10 with flip at 18 Graddr 255 Idadr 64 Mach addr 1 Jplimit NO Displays 2 Jpgrp 1 and 2 SA for standalone Size 60 your choice as for the other options on the way you want it to look Cham2 board At J7 I only used 2 wires being red pin 3 at J7(jp coin in)to pin 12 on S6000 back panel and black wire pin13 J-7(common) to pin 3 back panel S6000 To power my 2nd display since I only had a power cable for 1 meter I just tapped off the Mikohn power supply board to get the 5+ volts red wire and black ground which is where the first display powers from being the 2 open holes next to red and black wires see page 30 of the Cham2 user manual I think that's it sorry I tend to scribble things down as I tinker and install also I'm not good with pictures and vids like others are here which I know helps out much more just trying to give a starting point for anyone else that might install a 2 level progressive in a S6000 My own thoughts on the Mikohn is you can do so much more with these displays than a Spectrum but that psp will make you pull your hair out at times. Thanks to all who gave me cheers Thor777 I will see you tomorrow at Seneca to tip a few cold ones maybe chat about ham radio and of course slots. Even with PSP manual on your lap can drive a person batty... :72- You learn a lot though how these bloody things work... :89- My biggest problem at first was getting the bloody screen to stay "fullscreen" or at least a little bigger so I could see the tiny little letters...LOL Thanks for taking some notes on how you did it Storm! And if I remember, we wouldn't need a fridge this time of year to have those cold ones! One where your at and another in the Snowbird winter resort of Yuma, AZ where its in the 70's all winter. (115 in Summer) All you need is a old trailer that has room for a TV, Fridge, a Bed and of course all your SLOT MACHINES :72- You can cook on your grill outside and even leave your washer their as Yuma only gets 2.5 inches of rain PER YEAR! Tim I'm glad to see you got it going, but wonder if it will jackpot correctly since you set the machine for only 1 external jackpot. If you don't jackpot correctly try these changes In the Bally S6000 menu 11d 02=4 (probably wont matter with 5) 07=2 (number of external jackpots 78lo=1 06=255 Thanks, Wayne Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: stormrider on November 14, 2009, 01:40:35 PM Hi Tim,

If you don't jackpot correctly try these changes In the Bally S6000 menu 11d 02=4 (probably wont matter with 5) 07=2 (number of external jackpots 78lo=1 06=255 Thanks, Wayne Hi Wayne, Good catch that was a typo on my part 07=2 is in my S6000 setup 02= setting I tried 4 but kept getting 91 error so 5 worked 06= setting did not come up in 11d menu but I had 255 written down to enter in 06 Between the psp, cham, and S6000 settings and no road map really to guide me when it worked I called it a day so I'm sure settings may vary. After playing with the machine for a few days I hate to say it but looking at 2 jackpot amounts up in the award glass is a little much... to much going on is what I'm trying to say...LOL I'm already complaining sound like the wife :97- anyway I do like the game theme being that its like having a normal blazing 7 progressive plus the $$$ symbols come into play with the 7's and have the higher jackpot amount its really a fun game to play with many different payouts. Thanks. Tim P.S. It was nice to get a chance to meet you and Grace. Title: Re: Dual Level Progressive Help Post by: a69mopar on November 14, 2009, 01:48:30 PM P.S. Friends. Iknow very well how 341-075 cstlr stand alone goes. What I would like to know if some software (u190) could go as mystery jackpot as those use in CON2 ? Do you have any idea ? |
