Title: CEI 904 Video Poker
Post by: Ronbo on November 16, 2009, 02:12:45 AM
Hi
I think my CEI video poker machine is going to need work.  About one out of ten times when it's paying off the screen goes blue and there's a little question mark in the middle of the screen. Does anyone have a schematic and manual for this?  I checked the submit file and nothing there at this time.  Has anyone ever seen this?

Thanks

It's been  lone time but on the 904 /903 board a Question mark on the screen was a EPROM error
I would try reseating the Program Chips and check the sockets
some of the older boards had cheap single wipe sockets

Thanks Doyson!!  I will reseat them and if needed replace the sockets.  I was starting to worry that the PROMs might be failing.  When I bought the machine it came with 25 years worth of dust and crud inside.  Do you by chance know where I can get a copy of the manual?  I would like to play around with programming and see what some of the switches do. Thanks Again for your insight, it's priceless :3-

Hi Ronbo,

The "Submit a new file" section above used to have a CEI manual in there...that's how I learned about mine.  Since it disappeared, I will re-upload it tonight for you to download.

I know what you mean about years worth of crud.  When I got mine a couple of months back, it was nicotine and dust smothered.  I spent weeks cleaning the inner walls, monitor, wiring, board, hopper, door...everything.  Now it shines like a new penny and the smell is gone.  Look at the fan on the side of the cabinet...ultra yuck!!!

Anyway, good luck with your machine.  Put up some photos!  I posted mine up in this board too.  It seems to be a rare machine, and us CEI guys need to stick together.

Jason

Thanks Jason

I downloaded the manual and will continue to PLAY!!!  I do enjoy working on and playing this machine.  Thanks again, I'm still in the middle of getting it cleaned out when I'm done I'll post the pictures.

I can't find the download page or the manual, just a upload page.... which I used to upload a schematic of the 904 RAM module if anyone needs it. Note there is a way to test the battery even if the module is potted in black goo.

Where can I download the 2.6 manual?

DON'T KNOW WHERE TO FIND ONE THAT ISN'T A COPY OF A COPY OF A COPY. The one I have had the schematics copied from a larger sheet then 3 hole punched into a 8 x 11 book so important parts of the schematic are missing. Try calling Larry at 702-363-9998 and see if he will sell you a copy. The manual does contain info on the 906 besides the chopped up schematic which may be useful. Larry should be back in the shop late next week.

Looking forward to get more information about this machine and I'll give him a call! Mean while if anybody could post anything... Tanx again!

Lelo...Let me know if you get a hold of Larry Weber.....He has MY 904 board for repair...said it was finished and to send the USPS money order... That was a month ago...no board, no phone answer....no call back after numerous messages...no response after e-mails...lets hope it's vacation time/ illness, and Larry is still in business!!  George.

Larry is still in the hospital, has been for 3 weeks now and his wife won't let me into the shop to ship finished orders.

He hit his knee on the edge of a slot lift, it got bruised but didn't tear the skin. I called him daily and his wife would answer and give me updates.

When I heard he was running a fever and hallucinating I grabbed his ass and drug him down to the VA. signed him up, got his Xrays and blood work done and the next day the doctor sent him straight to the hospital.

He has a staff infection from his hip to his foot. One more day and the doctor said he would be dead. He should be out of the hospital and IV bag in hand will be back to work and try to get caught up.

The "extra" things I do to keep a job... saving the bosses life so I can continue working.

Oh that's terrible about Larry.  I've been trying to call him also and left messages regarding my recent predicament with my machine, and haven't heard back.  Now I know why.  Dormi has stepped in and has been helping me out...speaking of other "really nice guys."

So sorry to hear about Larry's illness, but glad to see that you took charge of the situation. :3- :131-
He also has a board of mine. Without it I would have to junk the machine. :37- :72-
Sounds like he's on the rode to recovery. I wish him well.  :wa
