Title: Bally S6000 coin optics problem Post by: clown2948 on November 21, 2009, 06:36:31 PM I have two Bally S6000 machines. Both were ticket in and ticket out. I nave installed a hopper and coin slots on both machines. I used A CC-16 D coin comp. on both machines. I replaced the wire harness to fit the coin comp.and the optics. I can get one machine to work but the other machine won't turn on the optics. When I plug in the optics it turns the yellow light on than off. The coin goes in the hopper but does not regester. What do I need to look for. Both have the new wire harness. The first picture the optics works and the second picture it does not. Any help would be great. Thanks Robert

Re-seat those molexes a couple of times might create some electrical contact. If you have a multi-meter, check the optics unplugged. Than i take the one that is not working it will work in the other machine. That is why I can't figure out what is happening.

What would be wrong with the main board if it works. What do I need to look for.
Title: Re: Bally S6000 coin optics problem Post by: clown2948 on November 21, 2009, 11:41:50 PM Hi I pulled out the main boards from both machines. The one that works and the one that does not work and the only thing I found differant was the second pin on the back of the board has been pulled out on them. I have enclosed a picture of it. Both of these machines have 5 paylines and take 5 quarters to play. When I put the pin back in I think I burned the back plane board. Anybody have such a problem as I am having.
Title: Re: Bally S6000 coin optics problem Post by: a69mopar on November 22, 2009, 01:30:54 AM the pins get pushed through or bent through mishandling, usually when the casino ships them separately from the machines. I prefer when they leave in the board and remove the software chips. They aren't allowed to ship the machines with software in them. You can usually push the pins back or straighten them with thin point needle nose pliers.

I pushed it back in in one game and replaced the board only to here the thing sizzle. It made some slight bell sounds and now it won't work anymore. I think it burned out the backplane board. It will not give me any codes and when I try to do a ram clear the reset light blinks. It will not do anything now. I am going to try to find a backplane board now to get it up and running. The game is an extra money five line game five coins. The machine still goes through the start up with the Bally talk but that is all it will do. The reels will not move. Oh I forgot to mention that I did get a 20 code error when I put the main board in. I could not get rid of that error. That was when I tried to do a ram clear with no results. The game just blinks all the lights now.

Newer machines are about late 2003-2004 and up . older are 2003-down . hope this helps ...................Ron (SLOTS OF FUN) :88-
