Title: Help with Bally Series E Slot machine model E2209-28
Post by: jimstol on November 22, 2009, 01:22:16 AM
I have a Series E model E2209-28 slot machine. It powers on but thats it. I can release the handle manually and pull it and the wheels will spin but they dont stop.  Any suggestions on what I need to do?

Does it show something on the display and if so, what does it show. There are still old manuals available with even the schematics in it.

was this a working machine - or did you just buy it as is?

Check the 48Vac for the solenoids.

I just repaired my parents Series E.  All lights on, wheels spin freely but won't stop, TILT light on.  You don't mention the TILT light, but everything else is the same.

The problem was that a small spring the retracts the solenoid switch after the handle is pulled had detached, keeping the solenoid from operating properly when the handle was pulled.

It's inside the chassis on the upper right hand side near where the handle come in.  In our case the spring was attached to the lever that actuates the solenoid (which is like in a car - a small cylidner with a plunger the goes in an out), just not attached to the little frame mount sticking out above it.  I reattached it and voila, everything worked great.  2 second job.

Let me know if you need a picture or something.
