Title: My mini game room.
Post by: modman on November 29, 2009, 11:22:56 PM
I finally finished fixing one of my slots so I thought I would share how the setting of the game room looks like. I have more arcade games but since I don't have any more room here they are in the garage. I have collected throughout the years looking for the cleanest of these particular video games and some I have restored to looking brand new and some were single owners never used in a public arcade. I am currently restoring a Frogger cocktail game and it's turning out great. I had to remove the deep glass scratches with a scratch removal machine I had invested a few years back and it came to good use! I'll show pics later. I should've taken pics before but was too in a rush to do so, oh well.

Nice Game room  :3-

Thanks for the pics...  :89-  K+

I am curious though,  Don't you ever trip over that glass table in the center of the room ?   I KNOW I would.  :30-  :97-

Especially after a few  :154-

I haven't tripped yet! I needed it there to put drinks and food when needed since there is no place to put it. I definitely don't want drinks on the machines especially when they are in great shape. Currently the table is holding junk that needs to be put away. I was recently checking up on the machines making sure the batteries are holding fine for the memory. I had to replace 2 already.

That's what I like about most slot stands, there is usually just enough room on either side to hold a couple of drinks, maybe some food and a ashtray for the smokers...   as you can see by my avatar.. the cats go on top ..  :72-

There was some pinball website that sold some kind of black
metal-looking drink-holders that I believe you attached somehow to hold your drinks.

LOL...not on Sundays... :200- :72- :97-

Here's the link to the cup-holders....
I think they attach to my leg....uh, pinball legs...
If you're not too shy about attaching it to a good spot on
the side of a slot machine - I'm sure it will work great!!!

I don't have any area where I would think I can put a drink holder on any of the video games. I definitely do not want to drill holes onto the cabinets. The table has worked fine and besides I can put food on it. I wish I had a bigger gaming room, maybe one day I'll build a custom home with a huge game room. Don't need a home with so many bedrooms. I do however have a dedicated theatre room with hi def projector. 7.3 thx certified speaker setup.  I built the cabinets, framed and padded the room, and all the mouldings. 5000 watts of clean power! 3x 12" subs in this little room, it rocks! The seats all have rumblers or so called transducers that shake the seat upon explosions and low frequency rumbles. Future installment will be the D-Box to synchronize with the codings installed with some of  the movies. If you never experienced it, you gotta try it out! Coming Jan is CES and you can sample it there.

I did this a few years back when the economy was good, I could not even come close to making another one of these or afford to replace any of the equipment if they were to ever fail! So far very reliable. I also have a mini recording studio I built with lots of keyboards, elect. guitars, drum machines, voice enhancers, etc. etc. but I haven't touched it in years. I got too many projects I work on and not enough time to play. All my rooms have surround theatre system setup. Some might call my home a fun house but I built it up the way I want it. I'm a big kid you can say. Another big expense was exotic cars, had a few of them Lambo, Ferrari, Benzes etc. until the economy went bad so I bought an ocean boat to go out and do fishing to relieve my stress of not having enough money. I'm sure the economy will get back together in a few years. I CAN'T WAIT!.....  :8-

I had to throw in that somewhat of a sarcasm at a time like this, I'm terrible. Actually that was about two years ago before it really got bad. If you think about what the cars were worth compared to a boat, it's really settling down for. Truly I haven't had any big purchases since the beginning of this year. I learned that big toys don't necessarily make you happy. I had to learn this the hard way. When you were a kid growing up, these were just a dream you wanted to make a reality. A rude awakening! more money more problems. I'm thankful to just have what I got. It would be awhile before I could make any substantial purchase of anything till things improve. For now I tinker with my arcades and other projects to keep me occupied when I'm free, keeps me from getting bored and out of trouble..   You're right about only in America! :200-

Modman,

Can you or do you have a link to the company that you use for getting your side art graphics done.  I have a Asteroids Deluxe machine that needs the side art replaced.

Thanks,
DDD

Asteroids Deluxe is a hard one to find.  If memory serves me right I got some artwork from arcadeshop.com. They seems to have the most side art overlays. The only ones I had put new side art panels on was Q-Bert & Donkey Kong. All my other machines are all original sides.

ADMIN NOTE: FIXED QUOTE BOX CH :95-

Modman, very nice setup, thanks for the pics.  You need to fill out your location in your profile, I might need someplace to hang out this weekend.

If any of you are in the area I don't mind as long as I'm not busy, just don't try to catch me during fishing season, I'd be out on the water.  I have taken some people out fishing from the fishsniffer forums so if you're in the area and like fishing you can let me know if you're game. :95-  I'm in Roseville, CA....
