Title: Game King (Bar Top)
Post by: Super_user11 on October 08, 2008, 07:20:52 PM

I am having a problem with an IGT Game King Bar Top Machine.
The game is giving an error of "Meter Disconnected"  and as we all know.. these 'Bar Top' machine's get TRASHED by the guests!
I have tried to isolate the problem but not having any luck.
If I remember right, I have had this problem with another Bar Top machine in the past, and it ended up being a problem with the 'Back Plane'.
  Any suggestions?

   Thanks!

I have the same problem in an upright. I changed games and it was ok but i put back the wild bear board and the message appears again.
I have swaped cards no luck. It must be a board issue any help what to look for in the board itself may be a chip or something.

Very common board problem on the 3902 board, if you use a microscope you can see the surface mount component that is blown usually, or may be an oily film on it, but unless you can do surface mount work, it is best to get another board, we have some

Take a look at the logic board U74 74c240 look for a hole in the chip and check the I/O boards. If U74 is blowen you have a floor tech hot swapping or reseating with the power on.

Do you know what component causes Coin In Jamb error, even if coinless on the 3902 board ?

i have encountered the coin in jam often but pluggin in the coin mechanism works,  now if coinless means bypassing the coin mech right? if so how do you do that. im fixxingto install a cashless system in this games.

The last 4 numbers of the board part number is what I am referring to, the 3902 is the I+ non enhanced board, (uses the simms), on bypassing the coin in, you connect the top wire on the coin mech with the 2 center wires of the optics, pic attached of jumper

It could be the same part U74 or a bad door I/O Remember all I/O cards you must power down the game before swapping

Thanks, it is in the boards, I have many of them over the years with either one or both of the same errors, it was most helpful for the info
