Title: PE+ Superboard chip ID help
Post by: waynelk on December 07, 2009, 05:04:30 PM
Hello: I have a 75703407 Rev. A 2094 GTC Superboard. Program chip is PP0516 A46-A75 and the MRO,MGO,MBO,MXO chips are C02003. No DATA chip. Can anyone tell me what games these chips are for or where there is a chip list where I can look it up?
   Thanks Wayne

I was able to find out the PP0516 program prom is for the Double bonus poker- paytable P325A-97.80% payout. Still not sure what the C02003 chipsets are for and I would need to find out what DATA chip the board will need. Hope this helps.
  Thanks Wayne

PP0516 is a non-superboard program chip.  It will work on a superboard, but doesn't require a Data chip.  It will also work on an older non-superboard which doesn't have a slot for a Data chip.

If the graphics chips (MRO, MGO, MBO, MXO) were in that board with that chip, I'd presume that they'll work for the game.  Worst case you'll get wrong/junk graphics on the screen, but you won't fry anything.  "Special" poker games excluded, many poker games could use more than one set of graphics chips since the card graphics were typically located in the same places on different chipsets.

Have you tried plugging the board into your machine to see if it works?

Thanks Nagel for the info. It is a superboard and that would explain why the Data chip is missing. I can't put it in the machine as I only have the board. Bought on e-bay for my S+. Terrible little picture in sale ad for IGT board, seller never got back to answer questions, but price was good. I am thinking of getting a PE+ and am checking if I would be able to use the board and the chips. The C02003 chips are the graphic chips and the Cap chip is made in Tailand and none of the numbers match anything in your posts on the PE+ machines. Looks like big S then N82S147N - 0137C24 - 9340v1 are the only numbers I see. I guess I could buy a different Game and Data chip for this board and use the same graphic chips? Sorry about the long winded explanation. Just trying to provide as much info as I can. The X0____ chips are for the superboard?
  Thanks Wayne

Wayne-

A PE+ set consists of the following chips:

1 Game (Program) chip
1 Data chip (only used for Superboard games)
4 Graphics chips (MRO, MGO, MBO, MXO)
1 Cap chip (assigns/determines colors used)

The numbers you posted including 0137c24 sound like chip numbers of the actual EPROM chip, not the label that would go on top of the chip to indicate what information is programmed in the chip.

You *may* be able to use the same graphics chips with different poker games -- some (but not all) poker games will work with the same graphics chips.  Generally if you buy a game set, it will come with its matching graphics chips.

Yes, the XnnnnnnP chips are the Superboard versions of the Program/Game chips and will have matching Data chips.

I now understand that you don't have a machine to put the board into, but if you ever do, I would suspect that you have a working set of chips on there and no additional chips would be needed to have a Double Bonus poker game.

Thanks again Nagel. From all the posts I've been reading you are the PE+ expert. The Graphics and Game chips have stickers, The Cap chip has no label. Graphics chips have a date 8/30/94, and then L95-0145 plus the CG 2003 and M_0. I see PE+ machines running from $500 to $3,500. Wouldn't mind getting one for $1000 or less for a decent working machine. As you can see I don't know enough about them to buy a fixer upper. I appreciate you taking the time to explain it to me.
    Thanks Wayne

do you have a list of the paytables? I need to make sure my program is not too tight to chase clients out of the casino.

If you're a casino, you ought to be able to log in at IGT.com and get anything you need?
We're just basically homeowners who get no support whatsoever from the big companies.

Alpha- Check out http://newlifegames.net/igtbible and click on the "Poker" navigation at the top of the window. There's a list of many of the popular PE+ games, and each game lists available paytables and their approximate payback.

Keep in mind, video poker payback percentage is dependant on the skill of your players.  If they're unskilled, even machines with high payback paytables won't return as high a percentage as listed.

In other words, your machines will hold more than the "optimal" amount listed, since all of your players will not play perfectly.

In Alpha's case, that might not be true, since he has s a small casino that is not in the U.S.
We do have many small casino owners from other continents that get help here. :71-
There seem to be three from Alpha's casino, or at least from the same area, and you are welcome here. :89-
