Title: RGB monitor boards 1401, 1401-B, 1401-A One... Only One Question Post by: Jackpot on December 08, 2009, 02:46:46 AM :204-
Yeeeoueee, I just licked the flyback wire during a royal flush! Stings just a little, oh were was I before I fried my brain?? Question: After digging through my RGB monitors and pulling the none working monitor boards off and not putting anything back on, and not marking which board was pulled off, what CRT tube, now I have a few CRT tubes that are missing RGB boards. My question is, are the different RGB boards like the RGB 1401 or the RGB 1401-A or the RGB 1401-B interchangeable? I know which CRT's had RGB boards on them, and there all 1401 boards but I don't know which letter followed the 1401, or which one just took a plain 1401. These are CRT's for older Bally poker machines mostly, like Sicroma's or v-2000 bar drop in's and maybe some older igt's with RGB monitors in them. What does the last letter mean?, maybe a revision? does that matter when you need to interchange them? Now I know I cheated by ending up asking more then one question, so please forgive me, I just couldn't help myself! After all what do you expect from a hot flyback wire licker? Many Thanks and happy holidays to all of you! Jackpot :206- :114- :114- :38- :202- Title: Re: RGB monitor boards 1401, 1401-B, 1401-A One... Only One Question Post by: badbaud on December 21, 2009, 10:30:49 PM They should be interchangeable. The "A" and "B" versions only refer to RGB's further attempts at developing a B+ and low voltage supply that didn't burn up every time the flyback hiccuped.

Only One Question Post by: Jackpot on December 22, 2009, 12:41:38 AM Great, thank you! It really helps to know as I have a couple of CRTs that had RGB's on them before I removed the bad boards and didn't mark which boards the CRT's had in them, I love a mystery! Anyone can mark them for the future, that the easy way, try doing it the way I did, and don't mark them, its a gas. Thanks again. Jackpot

Only One Question Post by: Jackpot on December 22, 2009, 12:48:26 AM Ohaoo, I didn't see that little warning paper there anyware, that would say, "DO NOT LICK THIS HIGH VOLTAGE WIRE!" So, I thought "Why Not? anyway maybe the gov should start lableing every I.C. and wire*??** Oh, to answer the question no, I am still all ball'ed up and trying to find my way back home, and I didn't touch it, I licked it, I know better to not touch the thing. Thanks!
