Title: PE POKER - DOA Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on December 09, 2009, 03:20:30 PM I just picked up a PE poker (not a pe +) - the seller had machine listed and showed "CALL ATTENDANT" when I pickedup the game - he had the board out - said the battery was dead - well the battery was dead - replaced the battery - reinstalled the board - still DEAD. no game. The only thing I could find on the board was a missing cap C29? not sure if it is supposed to there or not. Is there a RAM CLEAR for the PE? The board IS a PE board not an PE +.
Title: Re: PE POKER - DOA Post by: Jim on December 10, 2009, 12:53:14 AM Barry are you getting high voltage? static when you run hand across screen or bright flash when turned off. does game play with out monitor presentation?
check the three fuses f3 line 6amp, f1 24vac 5amp, f2 7vac 3amp. 24vac into cr27,cr28 annode side, the output of this is the input to U-19, the output of U-19 is 5.6vdc to cr25 on the other side of cr25 is the 5vdc for the game. first voltage to check. put meter across D-2 ground probe to annode side of D-2 (thats' board ground) the second voltage is across D-3, again ground to the annode side (the side without the mark on it) this is +vb (12vdc), If all these are good then you have all the voltages for the game. I did not see C-29 on the schematic nor is it listed in the parts breakdown. Never have used a clear chip on this game, so I don't know if one exists. you can lay the board down in the area where the hopper would be and check the above. The c29 spot looked like fresh solder thats why I noticed it - just want to make sure the cap didn't break off during moving etc.
Title: Re: PE POKER - DOA Post by: FOXSSLOTS1 on December 10, 2009, 08:34:46 PM I only have .5vdc at cr25 - do not know what D-2 is? also I only have a multimeter - getting to the contacts for c27 and c28 tough to do - hence the check at cr25 (diode). I have a tech that told me to try the following - turn machine on - press and hold the test button for 5 seconds - close the door - turn the reset key - open the door. allow some time in between each step. This is from a well known tech. Will try this tomorrow. can you elaborate on D-2 location? thanks.
