Title: Payouts and personality chips Post by: kaz1961 on December 11, 2009, 02:47:58 PM Got my first slot, a Bally 6000 Memphis Blues. From reading past posts I believe that the odds are changed by replacing the personality chips. How can I tell what the payout is on the game now? Where do I buy new chips and what should they cost? What is a good payout percentage for home use?

You are correct changing the personality will change the % shut off the machine pull the board out and post back what SMI# is on the chips located at U18 and U20 who knows you might have the highest percentage in now but doubtfull you can buy the chips from the vendors listed above. Home user % depends I like mine around %92 Title: Re: Payouts and personality chips Post by: stayouttadabunker on December 11, 2009, 05:39:52 PM How low does Bally go?

Is the payout number the percent that is paid back, so the higher the number the looser the slot? Is 92% about what most people have their home slots set on? About how much do the chips cost if I wanted to change the payout? Thanks again for the help.
Title: Re: Payouts and personality chips Post by: stayouttadabunker on December 11, 2009, 07:09:16 PM For home owned slots, you want the highest you can get for your particular game...
90% to 98% for the player. If you want a realistic game floor chip, then go as low as the casinos go... Is the payout number the percent that is paid back, so the higher the number the looser the slot? Is 92% about what most people have their home slots set on? Most chips are represented in payback percentage. payback percentage + hold percentage would equal 100%, so on a 92% chip it would have a hold percentage of 8%, this would be the amount the casino would get if the machine functions to it's intended percentage. Keep in mind this percentage is achieved over years of play and periods of low or periods of high payback would average out. For bally machines, a 92% is a pretty good payback chip to have, however some like to have a higher percentage. Your Bally machine takes two chips, U18 and U20, called personality chips, when changing these you will need a set of Saferam Clear chips to set the game up afterwards. Slot machines are controlled and manufactured for the gaming industry initially, so the availability of various percentage chips is limited to what dealers collected through the years, either out of machines, from extra chips that came with them, or from way back when you could buy them from distributors ($135 I think). I would suggest you try to enjoy your machine the way it is and if you wish to increase the payback percentage , then post a WTB or contact the vendors at the top, with the exception of myself since i don't sell chips. Jim at Blueridge has a great selection of chips and may have what you need, his number is on his posts. Jim also has the Saferam Clear chips you would need.
