Title: GUN LAWS CHANGING?... Whats your view? Post by: Thor777 on December 11, 2009, 09:30:11 PM Gun laws are getting looser across much of US :137- :3- :139- :79-
A change in leadership at the state Capitol helped open the doors to the gun-related bills and put Tennessee at the forefront of a largely unnoticed trend: In much of the country, it is getting easier to carry guns. Criminals can always get guns leagel or not...The more citizens that have guns the less a bad guy might be inclined to break into someones home or hijack their car, ect. knowing that the "citizen" might be armed ! :107- Title: Re: GUN LAWS CHANGING?... Whats your view? Post by: halestrm on December 12, 2009, 04:28:45 PM I live in AZ which is very gun friendly. Hubby and I are HUGE gun fans. A couple of years ago we got each other guns for our anniv. Just got hubby a S&W 500. We are careful and take time to explain to our 9 year old how important being responsible and safe is whenever you are around guns.

Subject: She Shot Him 6 Times! TRUE STORY FROM... "THE HOUSTON HERALD NEWSPAPER" IN HOUSTON , TEXAS MARCH 5th, 2009 ~ Last Thursday Night Around Midnight, A Woman From Houston , Texas Was Arrested, Jailed, And Charged With Manslaughter For Shooting A Man 6 Times In The Back As He Was Running Away With Her Purse. ~ The Following Monday Morning, The Woman Was Called In Front Of The Arraignment Judge, Sworn In, And Asked To Explain Her Actions. As I Caught My Balance, I Saw A Man Running Away From Me With My Purse. I Looked Down At My Right Hand And I Saw That My Fingers Were Wrapped Tightly Around My Pistol. The Next Thing I Remember Is Saying Out Loud, "No Way Punk! Your Not Stealing My Pay Check And Tips." ~ I Raised My Right Hand, Pointed My Pistol At The Man Running Away From Me With My Purse, And Squeezed The Trigger Of My Pistol 6 Times! ~ When Asked By The Arraignment Judge, "Why Did You Shoot The Man 6 Times? ~ Th e Woman Replied Under Oath, "Because, When I Pulled The Trigger The 7th Time, It Only Went Click." ~ The Woman Was Acquitted Of All Charges. Post by: ruttrunner1 on December 12, 2009, 05:02:33 PM Although that is a funny story, things like that that will inevitably allow the government to TRY and take away my guns. Let the guy run away. Next time maybe she will be paying attention and she can shoot him in the face and we could celebrate another obvious positive use of a weapon.

Jeesh, I need him to move some rocks outta my backyard! He must have a strong back... :96- [ Although that is a funny story, things like that that will inevitably allow the government to TRY and take away my guns.] This statement bothers me... Most lawmakers are scared as heck if everyone was allowed to carry a weapon. The gun-lobbyists must never give up the right to bear arms Amendment. But having said that, even thousands and thousands of protesters couldn't stop the Vietnam war or change the abortion laws. Some things get so complicated that the scales of justice cannot be tipped to anyone's favor. You can be happy and accept it as a sign of stability, or you can be worried and think it's a sign of complacency. If you sit still, all you're really saying is that you agree with everything the lawmakers pass on the floor. If the trend is leaning for abolishing those rights -then you can be sure that the gun amendment will be rewritten and there goes your rights to bear arms. I love everyone on earth, and I have nothing against them because I would like to have a submachine gun myself! lol It would be fun to go out in the backyard and blast away at a bunch of cans and bottles, but the only ones that are gonna cry about not having a gun is a few Texans, Jesse Ventura voters, and some NRA members. (I better go put my flak jacket on now...LOL) Can they win their case against the rest of North America? nope. outnumbered big time. What do they have going for them...The Bill of Rights...well, boo hoo hoo... those rights are being demolished one by one as we sit here right now... Ever since the WTC went down, the Customs & Border patrols have been putting up roadblocks over a 100 miles away from the border and have all kinds of powers that they've never had before in the name of "Homeland Security". They freak out at Customs over anyone wearing a bandanna. There's only one other country in the world that actually uses that term "Homeland"...guess who? I'm Mohawk so I don't really care because we were here before anyone else and was raised to believe that the women are only "caretakers" of the land...in other words, we don't "own" the land... that was an European concept brought over here by a bunch of foreigners who later decided to break away from their kings and queens and drew up the US Constitution based on local Mohawk laws since Ben Franklin was in love with the Mohawks and their novel way of living together with a never-heard-before idea of a democratic society. Instead of chief, he put in the word "President".... LOLOLOLOL I don't exactly know which bunch of guys wrote up the Bill of Rights which was the basis for United States... Remember, that was only about 200 years ago... A spit in the bucket in time...The Roman Empire lasted longer, but that fell apart... along with the Great Egyptians, Aztecs, Mayans and the horrible Nazi's who killed 6 million Jewish people. Seriously, what were they thinking? So, if you want the retain whatever right you may have to bear arms - you gotta do something about it and write to your local politician to let them know how you feel about it. Standing around with your thumb up your alley just means you agree with everything going on around you. (Bunker gets down off his soapbox and goes pull the handle some more in a vain attempt to hit all 3 Double Diamonds....LOL) I love you guys and have a beautiful Christmas!!! I have voted regularly for 20 years primarily leaning Libertarian/Conservative. Maybe the "TRY" portion of my statement bothers you. If the rest of the world likes crap sandwiches it does not mean I want to eat one. I happen to like peanut butter and jelly. With a glass of milk of coarse. I have guns and yeah when I was younger, I liked to go thru a few hundred rounds in the desert. I maybe take the wife out every year just to know she is familiar. I have them for when I am old and can't beat the crap out of someone. They will probaly illegal by them. So Marry Chistmas to everyone and go out and buy yourself a nice American Made hand gun and put your neighbor to work. You might need it someday. Title: Re: GUN LAWS CHANGING?... Whats your view? Post by: stayouttadabunker on December 12, 2009, 11:40:16 PM No, I believe that you will fight for your rights...you should. :89-
But, it's up to you to make sure your local politician knows where you stand as a citizen by writing to them and letting them know how you feel about it. Voting for somebody that listens to what you believe in helps but writing directly to them or lobbying for your rights to bear arms is essential to KEEP those rights. Should you notice the trend going the other way, then you need to do something about it. If the guns laws change and go against your beliefs, then it will be your duty to turn in your weapon - or face the consequences of your actions. Don't let it go that far - you, as a citizen, must obey the laws of your country. You live in a democratic society - that means you have a voice in everything that happens in the government. Use it...! I guess what I'm really saying is that you have to fight for your rights... :137- :89- Title: Re: GUN LAWS CHANGING?... Whats your view? Title: Re: GUN LAWS CHANGING?... Whats your view? Post by: brichter on December 13, 2009, 05:58:16 AM We have been dealt a decent hand of late as the anti-gunners are noticing that even Democrats (those that don't live in the urban coastal areas of the left and right coast, anyway!) believe the 2nd Amendment references an individual right, and are trying to make it seem they are backing away from a full ban.
However, they continue to try and nickel and dime us to death with onerous feel-good laws that only infringe on the freedoms of legal gun owners. Things such as licensing/registration of firearms, limiting firearms purchases, designating firearms as evil because of their appearance, tracking purchases of ammunition, taxing ammunition, etc., do nothing to interfere with the flow of firearms and ammunition to criminals. Many CA Democrats were upset when CA Attorney General Jerry Brown spoke out that he supported the 2nd Amendment, and now he's running for Governor. It'll be an interesting time in CA over the next couple of years... although we'll still be bankrupt every year no matter who's elected. Title: Re: GUN LAWS CHANGING?... Whats your view? Post by: fiddlefarter on December 13, 2009, 06:16:40 AM Here in Oz nobody but the police and farmers can own guns so you can be pretty much assured that if someone is going to rob you they won't have a gun nor will the victim, it certainly lessens the chance of someone getting shot. Only the organised criminals can afford an illegal gun and usually just shoot each other and leave the waitresses and little old ladies alone. Countries that follow these strict gun controls have at least 14 times less murders than countries that do allow citizens to carry guns, I must admit it is a little daunting to think that anyone can be holding a gun it makes you very polite to everyone you meet, and wary of suspicious looking people.
