Hello everyone... I just picked up an S+ for my father as a Christmas gift.  Everything works great; but I noticed a problem with the arm.  When you pull the arm down and let go ; it bounces after it gets to the upright position.  It's almost as If it's missing a cushion of some sort when it goes back to the upright position.  I also noticed that you can pull the arm down without putting any coins in machine ( yes; you hear the clicking noise as you pull the arm).  Has anyone experienced anything likre this before ???   Thanks for any input  , Bill

Something's not holding the arm in place.
It's not supposed to release until you place a bet.

You were correct , the reason the handle will bounce like that : there is a rubber " shock absorber" mounted near the switch , it usually melts away like wax. if there is a stream of it underneath the handle and on top of the power supply cover that's what happened.  usually orange in color. the other problem is the coil, its either defective electrically or mechanically, the coil has a bridge rectifier on it, and it is usually the problem with them.

Big kudos to you too Mark.... I really appreciate all of the pics you posted.  When I called Jayne today about what I might need  ( per posts ); she said she'll just send me another arm mechanism.     They're one of the nicest dealers I've ever come across.    ..... So am I correct in assuming that I just need to take off the 3 screws and replace the mechanism ?????      Is it that simple ?   No tricks getting it back on ?  Thanks again to all, Bill

It will be easier if you remove all of the DBV unit first.
