Title: CEI 906 on 904 tester Post by: badbaud on December 21, 2009, 10:24:13 PM We have a 904 board test setup but a customer wants to send us some 906 boards for repair.
Can a 906 board be plugged into a 904 tester? Does anyone have a 906 schematic I can get, or know where I can download one? Title: Re: CEI 906 on 904 tester Post by: billzel on December 28, 2009, 09:44:51 PM i think the 906 board can be plugged into the 904 tester. i have 2 machines , one 904 and one 906. i can plug the 906 into the 904 machine and it works as it should . same in reverse. hope this helps because both of my boards have a problem and maybe you could help me with this, thanks for listening bill
Title: Re: CEI 906 on 904 tester Post by: badbaud on December 29, 2009, 12:06:24 AM Thanks for your reply, a customer wants to send us 5 906 boards for repair and I had never seen a 906 version of this board. We have schematics for the 904 boards, hope the 906 isn't much different because we can't find schematics for the 906 anywhere. Call Larry at KLAR 702-363-9998 if you need help getting your boards fixed. He knows how much we charge, I'm just the board tech, if you have schematics work a deal with him.

Title: Re: CEI 906 on 904 tester Post by: dormi on January 03, 2010, 08:18:46 PM 903, 904 and 905 have identical pinouts. 906 is if switch #1 on Dip #2 is off, this inverts lamp outputs. Either way 906 board is compatible with 904 I/O's. 926 boards are a few pins different. Anyone have any 926 info?

Title: Re: CEI 906 on 904 tester Post by: JDW123 on April 29, 2011, 05:06:51 PM I found out that the 905 board is strictly an entertainment only board with no meter or Hopper drivers on the board... As for the Schematics, I am still on the board room guy to hand them over... but it takes an act of congress for them to do anything.

WoW, Maybe that's why my 906 board still had issues after you charged me $100.00 to re-cap it. :58- :60- Title: Re: CEI 906 on 904 tester Post by: badbaud on April 29, 2011, 07:38:36 PM I didn't charge you anything. I'm just the part time shop tech. Larry does what he does with his business and I am sure he told you about our limitations with CEI stuff but as you can see I am still trolling the forums in an attempt to garner more info and parts. What kind of problems are you still having?

Taping the rheostat type of regulator made it worse so I was advised it was the power supply. I rebuilt the power supply as advised and it made no change to the way the board operated. I then just bought another 906 board and moved on. This was back when Larry had the issue with his leg. Happy you got him to the doctor in time. Sometimes we can be stubborn like that. Title: Re: CEI 906 on 904 tester Post by: badbaud on April 29, 2011, 08:54:17 PM Ya, his wife was borrowing pills from the neighbors to treat him. I got pissed and grabbed his DD214 and drug him down to the VA immediately. He was in the hospital that night. The doctor said one more day without proper treatment and he would have died. Someone had told his wife that because he didn't stay in the Army for 20 years and retire he wasn't eligible for VA benefits. That's a crock. I have met vets in the hospital that were in Korea for under 6 months and got out and they still have their VA medical benefits today.

Keep trying, a lot of us rely on the generosity of past employees to help us keep their older legacy machines working.Title: Re: CEI 906 on 904 tester Post by: JDW123 on April 30, 2011, 02:06:03 AM I talked to the board room supervisor today, and he informed me he forgot my request. Unfortunately I'm going on vacation next week, so it will be a couple weeks till I can see what he has dug up.
