Title: S2000 "Time Warp" and "Cats N Dogs"
Post by: KirkLasVegas on December 23, 2009, 04:17:30 PM
Does anyone know if these two are backlit versions? I have a lead on 1 each of them complete with coinage/hoppers for $200 each. If they are backlit I want them. I cant see them in person as they are 250 miles from here.....

What, the whole machine or just the kits?

Those are S+ games so probably not backlit.

Lots of my S+ games/themes work with my backlite reels - why do you say that??

I have the strips and they are not backlit.  I know there are some strips like Double Diamond that are backlit but the game was also made for the S2000 in addition to the S+.  Anyway, the likelyhood of those titles being made in backlit strips in highly unlikely.

Triple Cats N Dogs is backlit.

If you put your non-backlit strips in the game would they light up?

Ok - I was confused by the question I guess.  There are really 2 possible questions.

1.  Are the strips themselves "backlite" strips - designed so light only passes through the symbols from behind.

or

2.  If the game/theme is installed in a S2000 machine with backlite reels - will the bulbs/reels work/respond to payouts on the game/theme.

Most of my S+ games/kits do not have "backlite" strips (no to question 1) but do work with the backlite reels (yes to question 2).

Does that make sense?

Non backlight strips do actually allow some of the light to come through the strip paper.
It's just not as bright as backlight strips...
they must use a very thin photopaper and
add thicker "black" border with laser cut-outs for the symbols.
I'm making some for a particular game as we speak! LOL  :79-

Check your mail guys...lol I'm showing you the front of my thing I'm making...!

I did have EI make some backlit strips for me before they got shut down so it's possible to find some backlit strips out there for S+ games.  There are also those semi backlit S+ strips like RWB which work fine with backlit reels, they just aren't as opaque in the area that is supposed to be black.

I will probably pass on the two machines, $200 each (Complete and clean) is a good price, but I have a few S2000's already (boring titles) that I could build something nice into them.
Thanks for the "Heads Up". I thought that "Dogs N Cats" was a S+ theme, didnt know about TimeWarp" fo kinda thought it was a S+ theme too....

Hello!

Just to clarify - just because a machine is a S2000 and has a S2000 game in it and maybe even has backlite strips - does not mean the machine will have all the items needed to be a backlite machine.  Backlite reels was an upgrade option - so all standard S2000 machines were not backlite.  Does that make sense?  Also, the opposite is true in that backlite can be added to any S2000 machine with the right parts.  So I wouldn't base buying a machine if it's backlite or not - it can always be changed.

I think most of us, including me - didn't realize you were talking $200 for a complete S2000 machine.  $200 is a great price for any S2000 machine and Cats N Dogs and Time Warp are great popular kits - if that deal were available to me - I would buy both machines myself.

You know Bunker this could be a 2nd job for you.. making reel strips, you could take up the slack from EI

If I spent more time photo-shopping on them...
I'll bet you wouldn't be able to tell the difference!
For now, they're good for wall paper trim in a game room....LOL
