Title: DBV 45SS problem Post by: mario on December 29, 2009, 02:47:35 PM I have a igt s+ triple diamond 2 coin quarter slot.Since I have had it I cannot get the bill acceptor to work.It is turned on and the light lites up. the bill will be taken in and then sent back out after a short delay. The head is a dbv 45ss v3.20 with ID 023.The chip on the board is a sp731.Are these compatible to work with each other or do I need something else?Any help is truly appreciated.

The 145 head will only take bills two ways, not four, and it won't take some of the new colored bills, depending on the version (you can't always trust the sticker). Title: Re: DBV 45SS problem Post by: mario on December 30, 2009, 12:49:07 AM Yes,That is what I have been trying to send through it.I tried quite a few different bills.Just wondering if I need a 200 head or different board chip?Do any of the dips have to be in any certain position?
Title: Re: DBV 45SS problem Post by: StatFreak on December 30, 2009, 05:32:22 AM All of the dip switches on the head should be off.
Have you gone through your settings on the machine? The credit limit and or bill validator limit may be set too low. While you're at it, make sure that the validator is actually enabled (setting 9 = 1 (although this is not really necessary since the light is on and it sucks in the bills.)) In addition, check your denomination setting. If you have the denomination set at $25 instead of 25ยข, for example, the machine will not take anything but $50s and $100s. Remember that you won't be able to change any settings unless you have 0 credits on the machine. Two ears on the back of the transport MUST be inserted into two slots in the chassis. I seem to have better luck by removing the cash can and then installing the BV.
Title: Re: DBV 45SS problem Post by: mario on December 30, 2009, 02:30:54 PM Buzz,I made sure the transport was seated correctly. It was.I used 3 different transports, still the same problem.I used 3 different 145 heads with ID 023.Still the same result.I used 2 different cash boxes.Still the same. When the bill is taken in it seems like it wants to credit up,but hesitates and sends it back out.It seems like the signal is not accepted .Could the power supply be a possibility of being bad?Could sp731 need an ID 022 ?
Title: Re: DBV 45SS problem Post by: fanninislots on December 30, 2009, 02:48:57 PM Do you have a set 15 chip? If you do have you used it to turn the BV(9-1). Ben

SP731 type 0,1,4,5,12 BV ID 2.5 I would update to a newer sp chip so that it plays a little faster, I always like sp1271. I believe that the ID 2.5 was a compatible protocol, but can't remember 100%, age I guess. I'm sure someone else remembers for sure. SP1271 Type 0,1,4,5,19 10MHz ID-023 Thanks, Wayne Title: Re: DBV 45SS problem Post by: a69mopar on December 30, 2009, 03:14:49 PM Here is the PSR sheet for the sp731 http://www.newlifegames.net/uploads/up/SP731.pdf (http://www.newlifegames.net/uploads/up/SP731.pdf)

Mario Title: Re: DBV 45SS problem Post by: fanninislots on December 30, 2009, 04:17:23 PM Yes I would upgrade to the 200 head. The 45 head that you have is a dead end as the new bills come out there is no way to up date the old 45 and 145 heads they have no room in the 512 chip. The newer 200 head is a 4 meg chip. I have the 200 head available for $45.00 including shipping and a test 123 chip for $15.00 and live support to get everything up and running. If your interested call me.
Ben Title: Re: DBV 45SS problem Post by: mario on December 31, 2009, 07:31:13 PM Ben or Wayne,Today I did a game prom ram clear - no problems.I then did a set 15 chip procedure and turned on the bv 9 1pressed the reset got 0 on the display.pressed spin reel 3 times for 25 cent then pressed reset again but 0 only in coins bet- not 9 1 25 on the display.I repeated this several times but the same results.I even did another ram clear and set 15 .Same results.Could the set15 chip be bad I am using or maybe the game prom ?It seems not to be able to set a denomination.Any help would be appreciated.
Happy New Year ,Mario Title: Re: DBV 45SS problem Post by: Buzz on December 31, 2009, 09:00:47 PM Once you got to the .25 and pressed reset, then got a 0 your done. remove set chip and install SP chip
