I just brought home a Proslot 5500 and when turned on the hopper keeps running and then a 30 error code. I was wondering that the hopper has a two wire plug in separate from the back push in plugs but these two wire plug ins don't have anywhere to plug into. Are these extra or is the wires missing and if so would you be able to let me know where I could put a jumper to them? Or if they are extra what should I do to keep the hopper from overpay? And again I do thank you all for your professional help. Scott I was looking at the wiring diagram and I think it is called the Hopper plug but it doesn't say or show if it is needed or where it goes. The machine may just be paying off. Try putting a few coins in the hopper and see if it pays off. Keep an eye on the winners paid display, it should count down as coins are paid out. The plug is for an aux. agitator the you probably don't have.

I have tried letting it do a payout but I get a error code 30 and counts up to 9 (30 .9) then the led stops at that but the hopper keeps going. No matter what I do it will always keep turning as payout. I am going to try a new hopper board. The motor just keeps running until the count is complete.
In the old days a common cheat was the use of a light wand. The wand was inserted into the coin exit and used to blind the optics so it would continue paying as it could not count the coins. If the light was left on too long the machines internal timer would trigger and the machine would go into a coin-out tilt. This sounds very much like what you are experiencing. I would check your hopper optics. The second gerneration wand used a flashing light. I had a problem with one of my hoppers where it was paying out 2 to 3 extra coins each time and then erroring. It turned out that the spring on my hopper brake was busted. In my case the motor was stopping but the momentum of the wheel just kept popping out extra coins and then the optic would complain to the watchdog that extra coins were being payed out and I would get the coin tilt. Title: Re: 5500: Hopper keeps paying out, two wire extra plugin on hopper? 30 error Post by: SK8US on January 08, 2010, 12:55:27 AM I put in the new hopper board and the hopper is now working BUT the next problem is: No insert coin light so it wont accept coins, bottom tower light is on, and with no error codes. the led lights do work but again no erreo codes so I hame cleared ram, reset, turned on off on. the door open code works. any sugestions?

The tower service light is on - The insert coin light is off but works through test - The coin comparator light is off but the coin optic light is on, and when the cherry switch is fooled for door closed the green coin comparator light is off. The hopper board has a place for dual optics but I have one but I believe the jumper can be moved to support only one optic as the hopper will pay out 10 coins with test and no lights on the hopper board unless normal manually operation. I have no error codes other when the door is open. I have tried resetting both the MPU and with the key on the side. Something is keeping it to start in the ready mode with the insert coin light off and service light on.
