Title: Can anyone tell me about this fortune II machine? Post by: jpjackpot on January 03, 2010, 03:05:39 PM Hi all, I had made an impulse buy on EBay this summer and then found I could not find alot of info about it but I still think it is a really cool machine. can anyone tell me any history about it, such as, was this a custom made game for the Fitzgerald casino (because that is the name on the card backs on the screen) or is this a one of a kind machine built by someone at home with some great cabinet making skills. :103- also is there any good place to get a manual or more info for the fortune II machine all I have ever seen is Fortune I manuals. the game works currently but I am thinking about the future like when a battery goes dead or something else, I have not got a clue about video machines and could sure use the advise.
Thanks Jerry Title: Re: Can anyone tell me about this fortune II machine? Post by: mah on January 03, 2010, 04:21:01 PM Jerry, I can not tell you much about the history but I have a similiar Fortune II Joker Poker and the back of the cards say Caesars Atlantic City, so I would guess IGT just branded them accordingly for each casino.
I currently have mine listed on Craigslist (Cleveland, OH). if anyone is interested. I only have a Fortune I manual myself otherwise I would share it. Post by: jpjackpot on January 03, 2010, 04:50:47 PM how long have you owned your game? was there anything about it that I should be aware of for mine. I just thought the game I bought was very unique because it is not setting on a stand it is all a complete 1 piece unit built right into the antique looking oak cabinet with all the brass accents and claw feet. but it looks like a profesional job or factory made custom game. I looked up your add and I am surprized you have not sold it yet. looks like a nice game.
Title: Re: Can anyone tell me about this fortune II machine? Post by: mah on January 03, 2010, 07:29:05 PM I have had it for at least 10 years, trouble free I'm happy to report. Not even a battery issue. As memtioned in my craigslist ad, I did put in a brand new monitor probably at least 5 years ago now but the old one was working, just had burn in. Looks like they just secured the machine into a nice wooden cabinet. Looks real nice.
The payouts are not that great as the machine was in Atlantic City. If I rember right, the hopper payout is limited to 400 or 500 credits. Probably could be changed but never looked into it. With the addition of a Game Maker to my collection, I do not play it to often which is why it's for sale. Title: Re: Can anyone tell me about this fortune II machine? I'd be interested in seeing them, as I've started working on custom cardbacks for the PE+ (part of the next generation after the Fortune 2). Thanks in advance.

The refresh rate is too slow for your shutter speed. Slow the shutter speed down to 1/60 of a second or lower. You may need a tripod depending on your setup... everytime I send pictures from my screen they look like crap... Know I know what to do!...you learn something new everyday. Now, if I could only figure out how to do that with my camera in video mode so I can show you guys some animations I've been creating for the 2x3! The problem is when I review the film clip I make... the whole thing looks like a wash of colors... The animation moves too fast for the video capture perhaps? However, that's another topic...I better get outta here...lol :138- Title: Re: Can anyone tell me about this fortune II machine? Post up a sample video, I'll see if I can give you any pointers. Title: Re: Can anyone tell me about this fortune II machine? Post by: knagl on January 05, 2010, 03:29:22 AM Wow, awesome. Title: Re: Can anyone tell me about this fortune II machine? Post by: StatFreak on January 05, 2010, 06:31:50 PM Might I politely suggest taking the pictures at 1/15 second and as close to F8 as is reasonably possible.
No flash. Make sure that you have no light behind you or to the sides behind you that would reflect in the monitor glass. Use a tripod or steady the camera against something like a chair. Depending on your camera, manual focus might be best. If your camera has color balance adjustments, use them to try to get the picture to color match the monitor if you can. Take a picture, adjust, repeat as necessary. |
