Title: 3 IGT S+ machines bill vallidator wont work on any
Post by: B-52BadByron on January 24, 2010, 08:30:16 PM
I have 3 different IGT S+ machines, on two of them I had a different chip added so that credits would build up and not payout at each winner.  On one of these machines the bill validator worked before the new chip was added but now it doesn't.  I used a SET chip on all 3 machines got the 9 1 and set the correct denomination.  On one machine i got the 61 displayed but when I hit the reset button and held it, the 61 disappeared instead of displaying 61 1.  What volts should the DBV 145 SS use for the S+, how about the DBV 200?   I have several different heads that were given to me and want to make sure I am using the correct volts.  Thanks, I looked at a lot files but couldn't find an answer.

200 heads use different power supplies than the 145's...
you need the PS with the vents for the 200 heads.

I hate to tell you, but any IGT S+ machine with any chip can be programmed to allow credits to accrue rather than pay to the tray each time -- you didn't need to buy a different chip to do that.

Also, some of the older SP chips skip the 61_1 code and just go straight to game play mode.  I wouldn't be too concerned about the 61 just going away on one machine, rather than getting a 61_1.  Are you able to confirm that you have the correct power supply for your 200's, as pictured above?  Also, are the heads you're using ID022 or ID023?  Any other ID will not work with an S+.

I have 2 DBV 145 B022 heads and 1 DBV 200 B023 head.  On one of my machines the bill validator worked before the chip change and now it doesn't.  However; I took a working DVB 145 out of another machine and placed it in the machine that the bill validator used to work and that bill validator continued to work, so I don't know whats up.  What is the procedure to change a machine from constant payouts to accuring credits.  The man who worked on my machines used to work at several casinos repairing slots so I thought he knew what he was doing.

Thanks
Byron

Evidently the keyword in that was USED to work at several casinos...

To accrue credits you should just press the cashout button till it's lit.. should add credits to your meter then

yea!  first thing is to establish what you have, what type of sp chips you are running in each of your machines, this will determine which  145 that can be used. The IDO of the 145 has to match the sp #, lower sp #'s required that the chip inside the 145  be a IDO-22, later sp#s required that the IDO be a IDO-23, you cannot mix and match, it's either , or. the chip inside the 145 determines it all, there is no way to select between the two, its a physical  placement of the eprom.
The 200 head has this ability, switch 10 on the first bank of switches will determine which IDO it will present to the mpu, on= IDO-22, Off= IDO-23

all the heads run off of 12/13 vdc     the power supply with vents puts out 12/13 vdc at a higher current rating.

Usually you can select the pay to credits display if the sp you are using will allow it, its done in the first to third display of numbers  when you press the white test button, (again depends on the sp chip)  usually you will see a 5-- 0 or 1 or 2,  5-0 is usually the setting you want, it is changed by pressing the spin button

hopes this helps

2 of my machines have a 0731 chip, 1 has a 0709 chip.  I have 2 DBV-145-SS-63031-B022 heads and 1 DVB-200 head and 1 DBV-200-B123 nead are any of these compatable?  Did I list the correct chip number?

I believe that the 731 is an IDO 23,  which means your 200 head with switch 10 off should work (provided your unit is good) in some of the postings in this subject matter OP-BELL had a 200 manual which describes the testing of the unit using the machine power supply. the 731 also supports the changing of the pay to credits option.(5-0)

I think the 709 is an older chip and may only support IDO-22

you can use the 200 head to confirm all of the above, since it supports both IDO-22 and IDO-23, just flip the switch  # 10  and you should be able to figure out which one is which. ( again provided the 200 head works)  I would make sure the head is good before you proceed, then you could figure it out.

e.g. if you put the 200 in the machine with the 709 and with switch 10 off  you see the coins in lamp flicker when you insert a bill that means its the wrong protocol, if you flip switch 10 to on (IDO-22) and it works then you know the machine is IDO-22  .  simple
