Title: How to convert Bally 6000 from 25c to 5c? Post by: dinot on October 18, 2008, 02:06:07 AM Hi all,
I was curious as to what parts I'd need to convert my Bally 6000 25c slots (which are set for pachislo tokens) to 5c slots. I believe the hopper and coin head and hopper is what I need, but I wanted to make sure that I get everything. I am also guessing that I don't really need the whole hopper but some of the innards. I figure real coins are more exciting than fake coins and nickels are cheaper than those pachi tokens. So it is a win-win. Also, where would one get a few thousand nickels. A friend suggested I just go to the bank everyday for a while and buy a few rollls at a time. He said that if I go in and try to buy lots and lots of rolls, the bank will charge a fee. Thanks, Dino Title: Re: How to convert Bally 6000 from 25c to 5c? Post by: jay on October 18, 2008, 04:25:16 AM Don't forget the denomination sticker.
There is also a spacer for your coin optics. This keeps the smaller coin going down the center otherwise 1 out 5 coins will hit the hopper but not register. I don't think you need to change the hopper. You can simply change the wheel inside. There is a Shelf Wheel or Pin Wheel depending on the style of the hopper. Of course if you plan to quickly switch between denominations having a second hopper is handy and its always good to have spare parts. Title: Re: How to convert Bally 6000 from 25c to 5c? 2 you need to set your dip switches 3 you need to clear ram 4 if the machine was set for quarters everything else should be fine Title: Re: How to convert Bally 6000 from 25c to 5c? Post by: dinot on November 11, 2008, 01:02:43 AM Thanks Paul. Now I am off to find those parts.

Where can I find a spacer for quarters, my bally 5500 was a dollar machine which I converted to quarters, but I am having the problem you describe, 1 out of 10 coins drops into the hopper without registering Title: Re: How to convert Bally 6000 from 25c to 5c? Post by: paul on November 16, 2008, 01:06:13 AM Go to the hardware store and buy a rubber washer the type that goes on sink drains they come in 1 1/4 inch and 1 1/2 inch they make a thin and a thick one get the thick one, take off your optic block and cut a piece of this washer as to make it go from the top of block and curve over to the reader holes. Put a quarter over the holes and let washer stay about a 1/4 inch from quarter make sure you blend it on top as not to leave a ledge to hang up quarter. when you are sure a quarter will pass with ease Put a little glue on edge and stick it in place. The reason to use the thicker one is when you put optic block back it will compress just enough to help hold it there. the thin one wont. this is a fix i use. I also use a piece of this washer in the dollar coin drop you can push a piece with a screw driver on the left to make coin hit the compairitor more center. and you dont see the rubber if pushed in right I hope this helps and not confuse you :103-

Post by: blueridgeslots on November 17, 2008, 12:22:23 AM Here are the parts for a Quarter, there is also a guide shoot if there is studs on the panel, I didn't have one handy, the bar in the pic adjust the comparitor sideways to line up the coin mech with the encoder block, this stuff guarantees coin jamb free play, this block is for Uprights, there is a thinner one for Slants
