I have a bally 809 which I seem to have broken yesterday. The part that broke is the two strips of metal which hold a roller bearing which contacts the middle reel to stop it from spinning. Does anyone know the name of this part or a part number I can use to try to find a spare part for this? two nuts and a roller that goes on the front (wide) portion. there are two different ones made one for 22 stops and one for 25 stops. You might give Barry @ Fox slots a call he may have them. I'm assuming you titened the nut too much and snapped it off? Be careful with your pressure, as those things will snap in a heartbeat. Try titening them just snug, and put a drop of locktite or something on the threads to keep it from coming loose, perhaps. In the future, if parts become unavailable, you may be able to rebuild the part with a proper sized screw and nut, a drill press, and a little bit of jury rigging and some filing. Lots of parts on em's are rebuildable, and the only weak point I can think of right now is the pressed fiber gear on the clock. Any of those things available anywhere? Anybody able to manufacture those or have ideas on retrofits? |
