Title: S+ errors won't clear Post by: pinballpaul on February 05, 2010, 04:53:12 PM I have a customer with a SP932 Black Jack and Double Diamond (also SP932). The machine originally came up with a 3100 error that wouldn't clear. I swapped hoppers, mother board, game board, hopper jack and did a ram clear. I get to 61-1 but when I turn the keyswitch nothing happens. If I operate the keyswitch with the door open it does go into test, so I have continuity there. When I put all the above mentioned parts in the other game it works (including proms). When I put the boards back into the problem machine the 3100 comes back :103-
Title: Re: S+ errors won't clear Post by: Slot Docs on February 05, 2010, 05:11:02 PM To begin with the 3100 error can only be cleared by finishing the payout that the game was in the middle of when it tilted.
that means that the hopper needs to count out the remaining coins. Second of all the to get the 61-1 code to clear close & lock (or make sure the latch is all the way down in the slot on the outside of the door) then use the reset key. If it don't clear I would look into the door optics not being aligned correctly or a broken wire on them, or just a plain bad one. Hope this helps Slot Docs Title: Re: S+ errors won't clear Post by: stayouttadabunker on February 05, 2010, 05:26:43 PM I'd like to add that the error code [3100] means "Extra Coin Paid Out".
I'd check your hopper and it's brake operation in another machine by using the hopper test and seeing that it pays out 10 coins every time. For now, I'd go ahead try a known "good" hopper in the "problem" machine. I understand that your ram clearing erased the credits but didn't clear the 3100 code? Hmm...I'm going to hold my brakes down against the motor for a few extra seconds and see if I can induce (simulate) a 3100 error code. I'll post results in a bit. Title: Re: S+ errors won't clear Post by: stayouttadabunker on February 05, 2010, 05:44:39 PM I held a screwdriver upon the brake lever against the motor.
I played one coin at a time and after a bunch of losing games I hit a small win for 6 coins. The 6 coins came out as expected but because I held the brakes open, an extra coin came out before the friction of the motor gears finally stopped the hopper from turning anymore. The "Winner Paid" window began flashing alternatively between the "3100" and "6". I simply opened and closed the door to get back into game mode. However I watched the "Coins Played" window when I opened the door and closed it. Remember, I was playing 1 coin at a time. The "Coins Played" window displayed a "1" before I opened the door. It immediately went to a "0" when the door was opened, then reverted back to the "1" when I closed it. This proved to me that the door optics are in tip-top operation! For your "problem" machine - I'd try a known good set of optics in it to see if you can get the reset switch to clear the 61-1 code. Title: Re: S+ errors won't clear Post by: idylewild1 on February 05, 2010, 07:27:29 PM I have ran accross this on a few machines. Look in the back right hand corner of the machine behind reel three. There should be a bundle of wires. In there should be a green/blue wire with a connector on the end of the wire not connected to anything. Cut this wire and tie to chassis ground. You can wrap it under a srew head that goes into the metal chassis. If this is the problem your 61-1 will clear normally. Hope this helps.
Title: Re: S+ errors won't clear Post by: knagl on February 06, 2010, 05:58:33 AM As Slot Docs stated, you must close and completely latch the door before turning the JP reset key to clear a normal 61-1. Also make sure that the bill validator stacker box (cash can) is properly seated, and that the cash can door is completely closed.
