Title: Bally EVO error message
Post by: CVslots on February 06, 2010, 04:35:16 PM
I'm working on an EVO (Philix the Cat) and keep ending up at the error message "Multimedia Comm Link is Down" Is this connected to the SAS ?  :103-
So far I've done a ram clear, replaced the battery and set the DIP switches acording to the manual.

Thanks
Darrell

I think the last time I saw that, I just went into the settings and changed SAS to none.

I have seen that on my EVO a few times and it ended up being the mother board was not fully seated into the slots. When you push it in, you have to get past the first feeling of resistance and push hard until it won't go in any farther.  Hard to explain but it felt like it had a second bottoming out in the sockets.

Just a follow up,
I learned a couple of things on the this one. First, just because you have a new battery dosn't mean you have a good battery. And you need a good battery to do a Ram clear. SAS is off and Felix is working.

Thanks to all who helped.
