Title: igt oval inserts
Post by: PWRSTROKE on February 06, 2010, 07:26:07 PM
Thought I would do my part here since some new and like new toppers are being offered here.  I have a few more than this somewhere but not that many.  Pm me with intersts and offers as I am not putting prices on any of these.  If you see them flipped up-side down that means they are new and have the paper or clear film on them.  I am looking for some as well so I can trade or buy-either or.  I am looking for ANY barcrest themes, Any reel-touch theme other than luck larry, would like a tabasco- :96-, etc..  Here is my list:
"play 1cent pennies"--6-all new
"perfect for 1cent pennies"-5-all new
"bonus times pay"  1-new,1-used
"Pharaoh's Fortune"-2-new (I removed the paper on one of them but it's new)
"white orchid"--1-new
"wolf run"--1-new
"big times draw poker"-used-?
" $1"----1-new
"beach comber"--used
"play 100 lines"--5-new

I also would like to encourage all here to post their inserts (willing to part with) here now and we can have a big ole swap-a-thon on these.  Swap may be cash or inserts or other-anything goes----I know cash will probably be #1 so that's ok as well---- :89-. B. Pictures if possible would be great also----- :89-.

MrBellMan (Rob),  Those are some good themes there.  I hope you can get some from this thread.  I think a couple vendors here may have some of those it will just depend on if they have them with a kit or loose.  Thanks Barry.

I have a nice progressive topper that I am looking for some type of plexi insert for. It doesn't matter what the insert says. If anyone has anything they would like to sell or trade for other inserts let me know.

Thanks,

I am not able to help but knowing what kind of topper (Bally, IGT, Aristocat etc)  would help others potentially help you ....

I really like those kind of toppers...
The progressive display doesn't take away from the art work on award glasses...nice!

There are 2 styles of inserts for that, ones that cover the whole area like the oval inserts and others that have the progressive window cutout. I sent another member a MASH insert for that. I will look and see if I have another insert available with the window.

I know that there's a "Regis' Cash Club" insert for that shape topper, too.  I don't have it, but I had the opportunity to buy one a few years ago (I should have!).

Kevin,

Please don't tell me something like they only wanted $500 for the machine too, or I will have to put a hit out on you. That is a PRETTY looking machine, looks like it has never been touched by human hands. Maybe I should clean up my machines really good, then require that all players wear gloves when playing the machines!  :200- :5- :97-

No, no -- nothing like that.  Only the topper was available -- it was brand new, still in the original box, and available to me for a song.  I passed on it because I would have had to ship it and I didn't think I'd ever have a need for two toppers.  This was at the time I only had one machine and didn't think I'd be buying any more anytime soon.  So much for that plan...  :5-

I have stated this in old posts but I would like to say it again.  You can buy all the toppers you want but the insert is what makes it all "click".  Without the insert you have a empty "hole" and some pretty lights---- :208-.  Some of the inserts I have seen in the past sell and have sold for as much as the cost of the entire topper- :25-.  INSERTS now are at a PREMIUM --depending on title.  Not that I would hack anyone on a insert if I had duplicates -or one for myself to keep. Just my thoughts -B.

Your right Stroke, I just looked at the new toppers listed on ebay and the prices amazed me. There are some great titles that I would love to have but not at those prices.

Does anyone make a clear insert for the standard IGT topper?  With all the photo editing programs out there cant you just print your own graphics on transparency film, adhere that to a clear insert and basically make your own?   Im just thinkin there has to be a way.

They wont be authentic but you would have something that you could customize to your gameroom.

I would love to hear anybodys elses ideas or tips, I cant see spending $239 for a Monster Mansion topper, or $139 for Hexbreaker.

I guess while I am on this topic I should ask if anyone has any of the following inserts, or complete toppers at a reasonable price.

I would be interested in

Monster Mansion...Hexbreaker...Risque Business...Cops and Donuts...Dragons Gold..Shake your Booty...Triple Stars and Triple Lucky 7s

Thanks

*Someone* out there makes customized inserts for the standard IGT oval toppers, but I don't know who.  At Casino Royale in Las Vegas, they have promotional gimmick machines that nobody ever wins at, and on top of those machines are a couple of those toppers with custom inserts on them -- one has a picture of a person who won $5000 on one of the machines.  Obviously that insert wasn't mass-produced, but I don't know what company made that one-off insert.

Finally had time today to make a harness and put together the topper and get it tested. It works great now all I have to do is figure out which machine I want to put it on. Anyway here is a picture like I promised of the finished product. Thanks Tacman for fixing me up with the insert.

Beauitful topper!  If that is an IGT Spectrum display, you may be able to get it to scroll the colors like the video below depending on the version of the chip installed.  Check out this thread for more info http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=762.msg5308#msg5308 (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=762.msg5308#msg5308).

Charles,  I am glad you are happy with it.  I will let everyone know as soon as some more are available.  I only had 4 of those left at the time-Charles and 3 other non-members got them,  The others were happy as well.  One day I should learn to keep at least one of those for myself---B. By the way excellent work charles--Almost time to show off a couple other cool things you have been building and acquired--?-Ha

Yeah... I am about to finish up on the rest of the mikohn signs I am putting together I think they are coming out nice. Just need to finish adding a few fans to the boxes and finish painting the cabinets. It's been a-lot of work and time has been limited, but I will eventually get done.

Painting the cabinets??  I have a 550 cabinet that I painted this morning. Its a plain metal cabinet so it was quick and easy. I would like to paint the rest of my slot cabinets to match but am not sure what paint if any will adhere to the laminate.  I was thinking that Krylon fusion for plastic may work but have not done a lot of research on it yet. Are your cabinets laminated and if so what are you using for paint?

thanks

I made boxes/cabinets out of wood to mount my signs in. I am not painting slot machine cabinets so I am not sure what to tell you to use. Maybe one of the other members has done this before and could be of assistance.

I believe that all IGT cabinets are laminated.

My pleasure, Charles! For the painting of the laminate, just scuff it up with a light grit sandpaper and then spray paint it, no problem. Flat, textured or hammered paint seems to work best. I have not tried a gloss. Also at least on 3 of my I plus cabinets all of them are painted metal with no laminate, and I like them that way.
